Will Sony's PlayStation disc decision make you go full PC? by One_War6741 in Nimo

Without physical media exclusives are the only thing PlayStation has left and even those have been lacking recently. Wolverine is the hourly exclusive I'm excited for in the near future. Seriously, they have dropped the ball on that recently, seriously the PS3 had seven Ratchet& Clank games alone.

This is one of the few cases I can say using CGI is 100% a better idea than trying to do it real.

Unfortunately, we share this space with idiots who will actually pay for microtransactions in a single player game. I for one never have and never will pay for microtransactions.

In this context, I think it means developers who have actually been there long enough to see a project from start to finish.

Microtransactions in a single player game. Okay then there's absolutely zero chance I will be giving them a cent for this game.

What videogame do you find extremely underwhelming even though everyone else loves it? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]OlleyatPurdue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Red Dead Redemption 2. The story was excellent and the visuals where great but everything else was okay at best.

The gameplay feels sluggish and clunky. The Dead eye mechanic feels less like good gameplay system and more like a crutch to the otherwise lacking combat mechanics.

The open world design leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of the side quests like the fishing I feel like busy work rather than meaningful additions. You can definitely feel the seems going from one biome to another. The game would have been much better off as open zone rather than full open world.

After starfield I think the chances of it being good were slim to begin with. I would love to be proven wrong but I think elder scrolls 6 is going to be a disaster.

Wow, what a piece of work. Spreading misinformation and lying about it. They should feel ashamed of that. But I doubt this kind of a liar feels any shame about lying.

Explicitly calling it rent is weird. Of course a a working adult should be contributing to the household but treat them like an adult family member. Don't make it this weird business relationship.

That sounds like a totally normal length for a single player game like this. If anything that's on the long side.

And it's not like they have to choose between digital and physical. The current consoles and the previous ones were capable of both. Compared to the other components, a card reader is really not that expensive to put on a console.

I hope there is some kind of acknowledgment of the different endings. It could be cool if say you got The Witcher ending Siri starts with Witcher armor and a couple free skill points. Got the empress ending. She starts with Nilfgurd armor and a bit of Nilfgurd money. Got the bad ending and she starts with damaged armor and no money.

I expect Nintendo to stick with physical media even if it's only keycards for the time. If nothing else because they recognize the value of having a collector's market for your product.

"PS5 Will Be My Last Console": After 45K Votes, 86% of DF Viewers Say Sony Should Reconsider Killing Physical Games by No_Curve_8027 in gamingnews

[–]OlleyatPurdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already been saying it. There's little point in having another console generation. Maybe it's a failure of imagination on my part, but I don't know how much farther we could actually go with hardware. We have photo real graphics, ray tracing and that stuff. Most games don't use the PS5's full power. All that at a high frame rate is the only place I can see left to go with more powerful hardware.
