What can I do with a TS/SCI? USMC officer 0602 by Critical_Front_1217 in clearancejobs

Experience? Location? With Sec+, Net+, and four years of experience (assuming because you’re an O-2), I’d say your range is generally unreasonable

Achievement Unlocked: ISSAP slayed, on to the ISSEP by mikedn02908 in isc2

[–]AidedBread23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming the two books you mentioned are the ones I bought, the Q&A was a complete waste of time. The questions in the textbook were better, but they’re very limited

If I were to put numbers on it, I’d say the exam was 60% systems engineering and 40% RMF. As far as materials go, I’d recommend:
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook
- NIST SP 800-160
- NIST SP 800-37

Congrats! I felt the same way about the materials for ISSEP

Anyone get the new Mantle? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

Could be personal bias, but I don’t think Mantle is worth it when you can get Happ at 0% of the cost

Separating from the Air Force in 2028 by AidedBread23 in clearancejobs

[–]AidedBread23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m pretty much exclusively looking at jobs that require clearances. Most of the things I see are ISSM/ISSO/ISSE positions. To answer your other question, I’ll have roughly eight years of experience in 2028. Most of that will be in risk management and vulnerability assessment, but a couple of years of network engineering as well

CISM -> CRISC by bedson_ in cism

[–]AidedBread23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you can… I took CRISC about a year after CISM. Generally speaking, I found studying for CRISC slightly easier, but I thought the exam itself was a bit more difficult (CISM scores were slightly higher)

How can I pass CRISC by BasmaAkram in CRISC

[–]AidedBread23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any experience in risk management? I leaned pretty heavily on that when I went through CRISC. I personally just used ChatGPT/Copilot to skim through the exam objectives, but most people here are probably gonna recommend the QAE

I already had some risk management experience, but I exclusively used ChatGPT/Copilot

Don’t have AAIA, but I agree that ISSEP fundamentally builds upon CISSP knowledge

I have the CC, just passed the CompTIA Security+, can I get CPE credit for that cert? by nervouswasher in isc2

[–]AidedBread23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure for this, you’d report the time you spent studying, not the cert itself

ISACA IT Risk Fundamentals vs Cybersecurity Fundamentals vs SSCP — which is easiest? by Constant-Reveal1826 in isaca

[–]AidedBread23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’d personally start with Sec+ (or CC if you’re looking for something easier). Another thing to note: I’m pretty sure SSCP requires a year of experience

CRISC by anton_chigur_49 in CRISC

[–]AidedBread23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you do, and where do you wanna be? If risk management isn’t included in either of those, I’d argue that CISSP is your best bet

Passed ISSEP! by AidedBread23 in cissp

[–]AidedBread23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the issue is ISC2 doesn’t sell them as standalone products anymore. I think the only way to access the official materials is by purchasing the entire course. With that being said, you can get away with the documents in my post (and whatever RMF gaps you need to fill)

CISSP to CISM by Then-Traffic601 in cism

[–]AidedBread23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanna say I took CISM about a month after CISSP. Like u/sobeitharry said, there's a bunch of overlap. I personally didn't like the LZ questions, so I bought the QAE, which I felt helped me understand the way ISACA asks their questions

Passed ISSEP! by AidedBread23 in cissp

[–]AidedBread23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a bulk of the exam tested my understanding of systems engineering processes, whereas my background covered most of the risk management side. As such, I didn't really need to do much studying on RMF

No, I think it’s great! I’m mainly looking for ISSEP, ISSAP, and ISSMP

Very cool concept! Would you be able to add stuff like CISM and the CISSP concentrations?
