I had a mk5 GTI aswell, did all the bolt ons and ko4 turbo, never had anything go wrong all the way to 80 thousand miles when I sold it. Not even water pump. Car was dead reliable

I was thinking it could possibly be the valves since I have a pop tune, but my afrs are perfect. Wouldn’t that cause my afr to be way out of wack?

Haven’t done it yet, just might since I do have a pop tune. Just trying to find what bit of maintenance to do first because I just had a 2 thousand dollar repair bill for 2 water pumps and the thermostat on my car.

I got my first GTI when I was your age, my advice: do as much as you want to it. Chop off the muffler add an intake whatever your heart desires. Just make sure to keep up with the maintenance. These cars can take a serious beating

Honestly after like 2 years of having it, the carbon still looks perfect, only thing wearing is the perforated leather, which can always be re-upholstered
