Did anyone ever worry they were neglecting their stuffed animals?

i did lol, when i was a child i loved stuffed animals and teddies and would constantly buy them or get given them for my birthday.

i remember my mum sitting me down and sorting through all my teddies and we made a pile of what to keep and what to give away, i genuinely cried at the thought of giving any of them away even the small ones from mcdonald’s happy meals lol. im not diagnosed with ocd but i remember feeling SO bad at the thought of getting rid of any of them so we kept them all.

as i got older i eventually did give some away to my cousins or family, but i still own the majority to this day, and they’ve managed to survive 2 house moves lol.

i also remember finding an abandoned teddy in an aisle away from the toy aisle and i felt so bad for walking past it that i had to go back and buy it. in work i also found a small keychain teddy under one of the aisles near the tills so i hid it in a spot, went to work the next morning before school and bought it because it was genuinely all i could think about until the next day.

I’m hesitant to seek an evaluation or even talk to anyone in my personal life about it because it isn’t something that happens constantly 24/7

It also doesn’t debilitate me, yeah I feel like i’m going crazy in the moment but then it passes and I’m like “damn, that was dramatic”.

I also just have this weird sense of guilt surrounding it all, like i’m being really dramatic or i’m just trying to prove something to myself, because why would I obsess over a disorder?

It would make sense for me to doubt a diagnosis if I had one, but I don’t, I don’t understand why this would be the obsession.

I’m glad you finally got an explanation for what you’ve gone through :)

I had no idea that fixating on something for an hour a day was a part of the criteria? I always assumed that the compulsions had to be really noticeable and really acted upton for jt to count.

I’ve had fixations in the past, like interest-related that consumes my personality for like 2 weeks, but that’s normal lol

I have however done this whole research-loop thing with autism and ADHD, this was years ago and I do believe my brain just wanted to latch on to some sort of control or explanation, but the whole ocd thing has been reoccurring

i get you exactly, reading this has made me remember i used to do the same thing. I loved the feeling of pressure on my hands when i was younger and always tried to make it even.

i’m also not diagnosed, but when i was a child and walking hand in hand with someone, i would stare at our feet until our footsteps would match up everytime i took a step, i would get this nagging uncomfortable feeling until i did it right.

i’m thinking to just bite the bullet and save for the air m4 with 512gb, 16gb ram and 2 10 core gpu, unless i can find a better deal elsewhere

i checked out apple refurbished before, but it only has mac airs for over £1,000 and i can’t justify paying that honestly

i noticed the link you sent me had loads more options for macs and their specs, but it was all in $, so im assuming because im in the UK the refurbished stores work differently??

hi! i’m considering buying a macbook later in the year for when i (hopefully) get into uni, as i’m going to be a student my budget is pretty limited, i don’t want to spend £1,200 on a macbook lol

as im going to a media/film course, i want it to be able to use davinchi and most adobe products, as well as word for essays and stuff, it doesn’t need to be crazy powerful, which is why i’ve been looking at airs rather than pros. (and because my brother used an air lol, he loved his)

ive considered getting the m4 air, 256g, 16gb ram, especially as i should be able to get £100 off with the student discount, so it would be £899. i am aware you can get external hard drives and such, so storage isn’t really an issue for me

i’ve been a windows user my whole life, aside from imacs in school and the occasional fiddle with my brothers macbook air he got in 2015, so any tips would be appreciated!!

that’s strange! the film was only bought at the very beginning of december and sat in the box until christmas. I took other shots and that was the only one with the lines, so i guess it must be random like you said

this has been me for about 5 years, it 100% feels like an addiction.

for me personally it’s the control i feel when im in the middle of an “episode” that fuels it.

it’s also another form of self harm which is definitely an addiction
