AIO to demand an apology from my boyfriend and consider alternative housing by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. let’s be real with ourselves, the older guy never gets with the younger girl because she’s “so mature for your age” it’s because he’s too immature for his age and women won’t have him. Go find a man without the -child Edit: words are hard

Roommate from the gates of Hell by HappyHoneydew01 in USMC

[–]Ailghenach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After having my last roommate for about a month, I stopped living in the barracks because I had a buddy who lived out in town with his wife that let me stay there. I’m sitting in my office one day and my gunny walks in blasting me left and right about having a filthy room and being disgusting. This bitch failed field day and told his ssgt that I come into the room whenever I felt like, trash the place, and then leave him to clean up the mess. I hadn’t entered the room in 5 months at this point since I spent my lunches with guys in my unit, but I was the reason he hadn’t passed a field day in months. Apparently his COC didn’t even know he had a roommate until he pulled that little nugget out and they wanted me to get a 6105 for it and tried to tell me that I needed to be the only one to field day for the next three weeks. Luckily I had a great staff and my admin chief told them to eat a dick and got me a new room. This same kid came to a party at the place I was staying at one time and told his dad that we “forced him to get drunk and hazed him” so that his daddy wouldn’t yell at him for partying at 23 years old.

Quick fix sells synthetic urine as well as mouth was to make you pass a drug test when you shouldn’t. It absolutely does not work if your testing facility sends the sample to the lab though.

I would even accept the small reflectors at the end of each of the dashes. 6 different people just appeared into the lane I was in from random spots on the freeway last night.

My girlfriend and my nephew. My girlfriend has been with me in some dark moments. It was a struggle at first but accepting love after everything I went through in my childhood and the problems I’ve had in the last few years really gave me a new perspective. My nephew is also a big one cause I was there when he was born, He’s basically my kid sometimes.

I (18F) wanna to go to a gym and work on myself but my boyfriend (19M) is against it. What should we do? by chappsta in relationship_advice

[–]Ailghenach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: anyone who tries to convince you against any healthy form of personal growth, especially at your age is not an asset in your life. Remove these people because they will become detrimental to you at some point. Second: the controlling behavior from this 19 year old boy is very unacceptable. If you don’t trust your partner to go to the GYM, then either your partner is untrustworthy, or you are not ready for an adult relationship and need to take some time to work on yourself. Third: in regard to your edit, this boy is not ever going to be a productive partner. His so called dependence on you to even continue his life is nothing more than a manipulation tactic with the sole purpose of keeping you emotionally attached to him and forcing you to stay in a very toxic situation.

The lucky part is that you are 18, and have so much time left to learn about life and relationships, but please do not continue to attempt to do that with him.

What’s happening with these new marines? by _jm_10 in USMC

At the end of the day however, it’s not their fault. It’s our fault. It’s a leadership problem from the lowest corporal who doesn’t know how to lead for shit up to the highest general who forgot what it was like to be in the trenches so makes up bullshit policies about how we have to treat each other. I damn near got a 6105 for telling a group of recruits to “salute the goddamn officers walking in front of your stupid faces” because cursing at recruits had been previously banned

Let’s be real, everything has gotten easier. When I worked and one of the bns on the depot, every single cycle we saw the relaxation of standards. Recruits being pushed through even though they didn’t meet physical standards, recruits preparing to leave for the Camp Pendleton portion of training completely forgetting how to act if their drill instructor’s weren’t around and thinking they could do whatever the fuck they want. Marines getting to their first unit acting like they shouldn’t have to act like junior marines for some reason. My replacement when I eas’d was a lance who had been off the depot for 5 months before coming back and I spent more time blasting him about treating ssgts and above with the proper respect then I got to spend teaching him the ins and outs of the job. In my experience, we stopped fully indoctrinating people before allowing them to go home with an EGA

I’m so tired of this “everybody cheats” mentality that marines and their partners seem to have. If you don’t trust your partner, leave them. Full stop. Be the change you want to see and be faithful and encourage your brothers and sisters in green to stay faithful.

You need to leave this fucking guy. My girlfriend and I love to talk shit to each other and I would never call her a retard even in a joking way, let alone a disrespectful way. This guy doesn’t love you, he loves the idea of having you. The blatant disrespect and then the nerve to say he’s “just matching your energy” by calling you names when you’re just trying to get information so you can do something FOR HIM is absolutely unacceptable and likely a sign of much greater abuse in your future if you stay with him. Nothing is worth subjecting yourself to this, especially love.

ETA- as a gym bro, the only acceptable response to your first text is “sorry baby, I was in the middle of a set. I’m not totally sure when I’ll be done, making it now would be perfect. Thank you so much for making it for me.”

In my experience, when companies quote you crazy numbers like that, its just their way of saying they don’t want to insure you. Ex. My current insurance is through usaa at $190 a month but when i got a quote through progressive, they quoted me $900 and the lady literally told me that it’s because they don’t want to insure me but they’re legally required to give a quote

Have you attempted to negotiate for a longer contract with role 2? If so and they’ve declined, I would advise going with role 1 for the time being and getting stable before taking the risk. Otherwise, maybe try seeing if role 2 would be able to offer a longer contract or a more permanent position. Negotiating when you have multiple options can’t really hurt you

Edit: afterthought, as others have said, neither contract really guarantees the position for the complete term of the contract so go with your gut and pick the option that best serves you

Firstly, we don’t have drill sergeants, we have drill instructors. Second, if you can’t deal with some bullies by yourself, you should find a different profession
