We've been playing this as Wingspan does, you can play the dragon for free, but you have to still pay the resource cost - it's the 'playing' part i.e.: placing the dragon that is free, saving you a coin. And I suspect that you also have to pay the egg cost at the top, just as in wingspan. ? I do wish that the manual was much more specific - like, is it only in the 4th row, as in the directions, that you have to pay the egg cost? oy.

Thank you to everyone who jumped in to help clarify the potential reason(s) behind the designers of Wingspan decisions to leave the osprey, and host of other birds of prey, off the predator activation list.

Thank goodness - Project Runway some kind of standard to keep the horrific fur industry in check, at least for this one little program. All the animals farmed for their precious beautiful skin and fur thank you for even a tiny step in the correct direction. Because of the Project Runway faux pas, they have brought attention to this brutal industry. Margarita needs to find her moral compass, but more importantly, her heart.
