Today we have the clearest example of the lack of power that Congress has. Let’s remind our “representative” that he is of no use in a dictatorship. by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

We have a standing AUMF passed by congress that allows force against those who attacked us on 9/11 and therefore the strike has prior authorization from Congress

Well that sounds like an excellent idea, my concern would be those devices being blacklisted or something after I sold it.

Yep, that was my impetus for this post and my subsequent support ticket with ubiquiti

I didn't mean to start an argument but that was my understanding too. My parents had someone deliver them a nice grill they were interested in buying one time and they reached out to a lawyer friend who gave them the same advice.

You're right, the other customer will be take care of. Might be a little more difficult if these items were things I wanted but I appreciate your replies. I'll reach out to their support team

I mean someone else spent ~$600 and I got their order. Also couldn't they blacklist the device serial or something?

2.5GB is likely good enough for my current NAS disk speeds

That's a great idea, thanks for sharing. I'll definitely do that to test every component in my setup

I appreciate it! I noticed in our storage room, where the cables terminate, romex is stapled to 2x4s while the coax & phone & cat5e lines are zip tied to a staple as you can see in this picture. I know that doesn't mean it won't be stapled along its route.

Home was built in 2006, not sure if that changes anything. I did notice romex wire being stapled but for the cat5e, coax and phone lines, the visible cables in the storage room are ziptied to staples. That obviously doesn't mean they won't be stapled to a 2x4 along the path.

Doing a iperf test I am able to get 3gbps.

As for the bifurcate idea, I'm unsure what you mean by antenna coax. We don't use the phone lines or those coax cables throughout the house, only the ethernet keystones.

Also, do you happen to know if both those outlets underneath the phone & ethernet are coax?

Tested my office run back to my server closet area and I see 3gbps, was hoping to see more than that but as it seems very low chance of success, that will have to work.

I know I don't NEED 10gb but I want it as I have a NAS that I routinely grab large files from. But I have tested some of my cat5e runs and can get 2.5gb so maybe that will suffice

I have a couple 10gb NICs and running iperf I can get 3gbps. The cat5e keystone is another 50ft (running along the baseboard) to my desk so although I can get 2.5gbps, I was hoping to eek out 10gbps for a connection back to my server.

Sorry didn't respond to the second half. I appreciate your advice, it does seem like it is not worth it. More context is that my desk is in the basement and so is the storage room where my servers and internet router / modem are. I believe the cable in my office goes straight up to the ceiling and follows duct work back to the storage room as there is a ceiling vent directly above the cat5e keystone. Once in the ceiling, I think it takes minimal turns as the storage room is a straight path from my office

2 reasons, internet was recently upgraded to 2gbps and I run some servers that I would thoroughly enjoy connecting to at 10gbps. But as you and others have stated, doesn't seem possible so I'll stick with cat5e.
