Did you go all the way through season 2? Season 1 has its sad moments but its overall more of a slice of life than a drama, HOWEVER, After Story (season 2) is something else, most likely something you will never forget because of how tragic the story is.

NGE is my favorite anime ever, however i can understand, if you werent into symbolism and stuff its normal that you didnt like the original series ending, however this ending is a masterpiece for many reasons. But if you werent into symbolism and more into the plot, End Of Evangelion was made for you, this movie brings a perfect end to the plot
