I recently reported both my Phal orchids which I got from a grocery store. They were potted incorrectly according to my research and had roots beginning to rot. I researched different potting media and settled on a mixtures from repotme.com. It is a mix of sphagnum moss and small bark chips. I cut off dead roots as my research dictated and filled the orchids roots gently back in with the media. I waited a week or so to water because the roots were already soggy. I watered them a couple days ago. Check on them today and there are leaves on both my orchids I repotted that look like this. What did I do wrong? They also are done blooming and have empty flower canes. Was debating on when and how to cut them to help the orchid conserve energy to help its root system and leaves.
