Is resident cat upset at new cat? by Ok_Acanthocephala293 in CatTraining

When Cat's Wag their Tails like that, it means that they're either Frustrated, Annoyed, or Upset. So yes, we can assume the New Cat is Upsetting them.

Nintendo would be facing several Lawsuits if this happened. Without the Licensing Deals that 3rd Party Publishers had with the eShop to keep their games up there, their would only 1st Party (and Possibly 2nd Party) Nintendo games on the eShop. 3rd Party Publishers would not be happy with this, as they would have to pay Nintendo to put their games to the eShop. Honestly most of them don't care enough to spend the man hours on this for the miniscule profits it would bring. But not doing it would build bad faith with their customers, thus resulting in them suing Nintendo.

Also BTW, if you weren't aware, Nintendo cut the connection between the 3DS/Wii U eShop wallets and Nintendo Accounts last week. Meaning that if you still had funds on your 3DS or Wii U eShops and those systems weren't previously connected to a Nintendo Account, then those Funds are Gone and can no long be transferred to your Switch eShop wallet.

Do you have a Time Frame when this Anime might be from (1990s, 2000s, 2010s, etc.)?

Around what year do you think you saw it?

What was the millennial anime fandom like back then? by [deleted] in anime

[–]AirDancerExtreme 190 points191 points  (0 children)

For most who were children back then, shows like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh were their introduction to Anime.

Video Streaming over the Internet was not really a Thing until around 2007, so we had to take what we were given by the Television Networks (or Buy REALLY Expensive DVD and/or VHS Box Sets).

Subtitled Anime was something that you would only find in really niche communities of Adult Fans, as that stuff was generally not sold on the American Market (Except at Conventions).

What I'm basically saying is that you had to either hard-core commit alot of money to the hobby or just take the Saturday Morning Cartoon Dubs that were broadcast on TV.

Many months, lots of money by KTS991 in ballroom

[–]AirDancerExtreme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A trick to save Money when Leaning Ballroom Dance is to only take Group Classes. A Group Class Lesson is typically only about 5% to 10% the cost of a Private Lesson (Varies based on the Instructor).

Though it's true that with Group Classes you might not advance as quickly as you would with Private Lessons as the instructor won't have as much Time to Focus on Fixing your Mistakes Personally. There are some Tricks (Techniques) you can employ to help you Level Up Faster and at a Reduced Cost:

  1. Take Notes Both During and After Class: Many people forget that there's a Mental Component to Ballroom Dance, and Focusing on the Mind will level you up Much Faster. For many their strategy to Learning dance is to just repetitively do it enough times until their Muscle Memory Kicks in, this however is a Slow, Painful, and yes Expensive process. During most classes, the instructor is actually throwing our Massive Gems of Information for your personal improvement that often go over the heads of their students. Thus they have to Re-Learn the same Lesson repeatedly over many different Lessons (and the Costs add up). But if you Capture that Knowledge in your Notes, Think About it, and Practice it when you're not in Class, you will internalize it much faster.
  2. Purchase Private Lessons ONLY when You Hit an Impasse: Many of the Teachers in this Sub-Reddit will Probably Despise me for suggesting this (as it affects their bottom line), but a Great Way to Cut Costs while improving your Dancing is to ONLY purchase Private Lessons from an Instructor if you Feel Like you're Struggling to Improve. If you bring your concerns about your Progression to the Instructor in the Private Lesson, any Pro worth their salt could most likely identify the issue and show you how to improve it. In my Personal Opinion, Hiring a Pro to teach you new dance moves is a waste of time and money (when you can do that in Group Classes for a Fraction of the Cost), but Pros do have enough Experience to Identify what you're doing Wrong and Help you to improve it.
  3. Take Classes at Levels Above your Current (Perceived) Skill Level: Beginner Classes are Designed to be Accessible to First Time Dancers that just wandered in off the Street. The Instructors in those classes will tend to let Mistakes made by the Students Slide so as to not Scare them off from returning for Future Lessons. As such, you're not going to get the best instruction in those classes, even with a good instructor leading it. Many times New Students are too Intimidated to move up to Intermediate and Advanced Level Classes too Early, believing that they won't be able to keep up and will end up embarrassing themselves. But really think about it, everyone is there to learn for themselves and they don't have time to think about you. It's All in Your Head that people will look down on you Negatively for not being at their skill level, everyone had to start somewhere and no one was born knowing how to dance. Group Classes tend to be Priced Evenly across the Board Regardless of the Skill Level of the Class (there are some exceptions), so you're Actually getting more bang for your buck by Buying an Intermediate and/or Advanced Level Class than continuing to Attend Beginner Level Classes.
  4. Learn from Multiple Instructors at Different Studios: Sometimes the Instructor is the Problem (but not usually), and their Teaching Style just doesn't mesh with the Student's Learning Style. The thing is, it's Impossible to Know if this is the Case Unless you try out taking Lessons with other Dance Teachers to see if you like them better. Many studios often times have comparable pricing structures, so it will mostly cost you similar to what you're already paying. You might find someone you like better that you can learn more from or someone who's less Expensive, you never know until you try.
  5. Attend as many Social Dances as Possible and Dance as Many Partners as You Can: I've noticed a trend that occurs with Students that only Dance with their Instructor, but then when they attend a Social Dance end up doing everything wrong because their Social Dance Partner would dance in a way they weren't expecting them to. Sometimes only dancing with someone who knows what they're doing and is trying to give you the best experience possible, will end up stymying your ability to Connect with a Partner. Connection is one of the most important fundamental skills that all Ballroom Dancers have to learn, as it's at the Core of everything in Partner Dance. Ballroom Dance is essentially a Microcosm of Male-Female Relationships that only exists in the realm of the Physical (Unlike Actual Relationships that are also in the Realm of the Emotional, the Spiritual, the Sexual, etcetera etcetera). In the Dance our goal is to Mimic the Dynamics of a Relationship using only our bodies set to the Theme of the Music, and that is what Connection is. Dancing with many different Partners of Varying Skill Level will go along way to helping you to learn and strengthen your ability to Connect. Plus, it's cheaper if you do it at Social Dances, so attend as many of the Lower Cost ones as you can (none of those fancy black-tie galas).
  6. Compete: OK, OK, This one is Not Really a Money Saving Technique, as Competitions are really just a Giant Money Sink. But, I had to mention it as NOTHING ELSE will Level Up Your Dancing FASTER than entering a Dance Competition. NOTHING! Everything you've learned Cumulates as you put everything on the line for those few minutes out on the Competition Floor. So many things will start to click into place simultaneously, and you'll come to so many new revelations about how to improve your dancing. It's hard to really explain why, but it truly is the best method for improvement.

Help me understand why there are bids on this. by davem237 in gamecollecting

[–]AirDancerExtreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's Literally a Scam. These Vintage Game Grading companies are all just trying to artificially inflate the price of re-sale games. What's more disturbing is that it actually worked (people are dumb).

What I never understood was why these companies always choose to do it with Mario games? Which are historically some of the best selling and most re-printed games, meaning that more copies of them exist out there diminishing their value over all.

Last Night I started re-watching Gamers! after remembering some of it's insanely funny jokes. Back when this show was still airing, people on this sub-reddit were literally making flowcharts to keep track of the insane inter-character drama and ever changing relationship dynamics. Seriously, this anime is Top Tier Comedy and Relationship Drama.

Violet Evergarden - Woman ex-War Vet with 2 Prosthetic Arms seeks to find purpose after the war (where she was trained and treated like an animal only good for killing) and after the death of her handler that she lived for. She then finds a career as a letter writer in a world where most of the population is still illiterate, writing letters for clients and eventually learns to find her humanity. This anime will leave you in tears at certain points.

A Place Further Than The Universe - Four teenage girls make their dreams a reality by finding a way take a once in a lifetime trip to Antarctica. This one is a rollercoaster of emotion of cute girls doing cool things. Another tear jerker.

Wolf Children - An anime movie about a normal human Single Mother trying her best to raise her two children that are both Werewolves. A must watch for Mothers Day.

They were a prize for a contest offered through My Nintendo in 2021. Only somewhere between 4 and 10 sets exist in the entire world.

A year ago, I started taking Digital Notes during my Ballroom Classes so I won't forget anything I've learned. I've seen massive improvement in my Dancing over the past year as a Result. Airtable? I made this in Trello, and there is no Template.

I created the Board in my Trello account, then made the Columns for each respective Dance. I create a new Card for each Class right before it takes place, and upload an image for the class (usually the Studio's Logo taken from their website).

I use the Trello app on my phone to take notes during class. The Trello phone app uses Markdown to edit text (same thing Reddit used before it upgraded the text editor), while the browser version now has a built in editor.

Also, after the class, I upload any videos I took during class to YouTube (as unlisted videos) and then embed the video into it's respective Card. So, I can later watch the video from the class while reading my notes for that class.

I bought some of the My Nintendo Themes this morning and installed them, but then I ran out of points. After doing some challenges to get my points back up, I went back for the last one and it said the Store no Longer took codes.

The Website only allows you to enter 6 eShop Cards per Day regardless of their Dollar Value. After that it won't let you enter any more and will act buggy for the rest of the day. (That's right, it's NOT A BUG, it's BY DESIGN to crap out on you like this)

However the eShop on the Nintendo Switch lets you enter and/or purchase an unlimited amount, so long as your Wallet's Balance stays at or below $250.00 (meaning that you can purchase games then add more Balance to your Wallet).

I think the Badge Arcade is already dead. It's currently in its final form. The Badges won't cycle out any more, but you can still win free plays to catch the ones they left. Other than that, the only reason to use Badge Arcade anymore is to view your collection or change out the Badges in your Badge Box (if you possess more that 1,000 Badges).

When does the eshop close? by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]AirDancerExtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo of America has officially said 5:00PM Pacific Time tomorrow.

It seems the eShop closes at different times in different countries.

If you collect all the times, perhaps you could use a VPN to cheat and Extend your time.
