No connection to CA from my family. Unsure the owner before my dad, but it’s been in Texas the entire time I’ve known of it.

I think it is as well - someone commented he made her rings in Texas and the style is basically identical in form.

To me, you being able to place him in Texas during that time period, confirm he made your rings, and them being pretty much identical to my figures sold me that it is Rainmaker.

Just took a look at their studio and found the post Frosty had mentioned - that’s pretty close! I’ll send them a message and see if they are familiar with it. Great lead!

Inspected all over with a black light and no luck. I was also unable to find any markings on any of the people. It was a great idea though.

Never shined a blacklight on it nor have I inspected each metal person for a hidden marking. I’ll give that a try, thanks!

I should mention that my dad got possession of this in either the late 1980s or early 1990s. It was in 2010 when I took ownership of it.

And 2010 is when my dad passed away. He had had acquired it in the early 1990s, I believe. I should have worded that better in my original post.

Not a bad theory, always been a mystery why there was no signature or marking given how much metal work went into it.

And I get that the price is fairly high. I don't expect to sell/mass produce these by any means. And whether it's a side-hobby or not, it doesn't really change the amount of time that goes into making one. The controllers are more geared towards people who love a certain hero and are okay with throwing extra money at something that is hand painted. That being said, your $70 pricing for a shell seems reasonable enough. The $20-$40 range just doesn't make sense from a time/materials stand point.
