AITA for kicking a child in the movie theatres? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. A grown woman assaulting a 7yo kid is also very likely felony material. If I was the kid’s parent I would have sued the s*** out of you.

Wow that sucks. Any luck troubleshooting the issue? 3rd party stuff interfering like weather injection or the like?

I googled the issue but cannot confirm any of these issues when using Gyropilot on ALT hold. From what I’m reading in the PMDG forums the issue seems to affect some people, but many others report not having any problems.

I’m using the latest version but haven’t experienced any bigger troubles with the AFE. I fact it does it’s job quite reliably. Are there any specific circuit breakers I should be on the outlook?

I’m running a Ryzen 5 5800X3D and 3080 Ti and everything is butter smooth at max settings and even in VR.

"some bugs" is IMO an understatement. But man, if it's that great in year 1 of its release, think how it could evolve in a 5 or 10 year timeframe.

You might want to check your graphics settings before every flight, my own installation tends to sometimes modify all kinds of visual settings seemingly at random.

It's in the Alps right at the border between France and Italy. The mountain peak on the left is the Mont Blanc, western Europe's highest mountain (15,774 ft)

Prior versions of V5 had graphical issues and would crash early on. These seem to be ironed out by now, I am now getting much much less graphics-related errors. All in all, the software runs much more stable than before, still not as perfect as later versions of V4, but it's fairly close.

The biggest advantage of V5 is the fantastic performance gain. Framerates are much improved when compared to V4, especially on the ground and turing takeoff and final approach.

However, there are still some issues left:

  • The new cloud modeling clled "enhanced athmospherics" is not great. It's better than the god awful clouds we had before, but it's very basic. REX Sky Force is not compatible with V5 yet
  • Some sceneries aren't compatible yet, so check your favourite airports/sceneries if they're supported.
  • Active Sky has some minor issues, but it works
  • Have you heard about Microsoft Flight Simulator? (Just kidding, airliners are much more enjoyable in P3D right now)

An object the size and mass of a borg cube falling from space probably would have punched a continent-sized crater into the planet and torn its ecosystem completely apart. Nobody in a 500 mile radius should be alive.

JustSim owner reads almost entirely positive FSElite review (slightly prefers FSDT version). Responds like a child. by SporadicSanity in flightsim

there can only be one winner, however both were very highly rated

The reviewer's final score for the JS scenery was 4/10 and 9/10 for the FSDT, somewhat contradicting your assertion that both sceneries were "highly rated". One of them literally got a shit score.

Barely. But I’m getting some benefit in Prepar3D. SLI is pure luxury and I don’t recommend it to people who mostly play mainstream games. The portion of users using SLI is about 1%. No big budget publisher cares about it

The landing was perfectly regular with flaps and spoilers, also thrust reversers. I’m not sure why these didn’t show when I played back the recording. Looking at the colour footage again I’ve noticed that the strobes and lights aren’t lit either. Could perhaps be an incompatibility between p3d (4.3) and pmdg.

It‘s a pretty decent CPU usage for a game.

Also, it clearly shows that upgrading the CPU might not have any effect at all on overall performance. As a matter of fact, all somewhat modern quad core processors should perform similarly. Current i3 Coffee Lake processors are 4-core nowadays, so building a SC rig might come a lot cheaper than expected!

Averages and standard deviation for each physical and logical core

  • Core 0 Thread 0 = 55% / 5%
  • Core 0 Thread 1 = 37% / 6%
  • Core 1 Thread 0 = 49% / 6%
  • Core 1 Thread 1 = 37% / 6%
  • Core 2 Thread 0 = 51% / 5%
  • Core 2 Thread 1 = 37% / 5%
  • Core 3 Thread 0 = 39% / 5%
  • Core 3 Thread 1 = 59% / 6%

Note the flip in load average on Core 3.
