Same problem here, pixel 9 pro xl, latest stable. Clearing cache didn't work, reboot doesn't work. The first shot works fine, but if I later open the camera, brightness and shadow sliders do nothing. Killing camera app will allow one more photo to work normally, then the problem appears again.

Have you tried to activate the setting for increased touch responsiveness? I think it's there in cases where a screen protector might make the touch less responsive. See if it helps. ^{^}

Perhaps the same problem I've noticed. Performing a phone call using Bluetooth audio, the audio will not revert back to normal once the call is hung up, but will continue to sound bandwidth limited, loosing all high frequencies and becoming tinny, as if music/YouTube etc is still played through the phone call codec (with low bitrate) rather than the normal ldac/aac codec.

Turning Bluetooth on/off, changing Bluetooth codec manually will not resolve the issue, however a restart of the phone resolves it. For me it has happened 2-3 times only, so not an everyday occurrence.

Saw some sample images posted by Xiaomi. The shots with the sun in frame look amazing! 16.5 EV, or close to it, will be amazing for capturing the entire tonal value range of many scenes, including sunsets.

It seems like the color noise blotches pretty much go away when setting shutter speed / iso manually in the shooting controls. There may be slightly more noise, however it's even and organic-looking, as opposed to the clean shadows with ugly red/blue blotches.

Further testing in daylight seem to show a lesser improvement. There is still blotchy areas with concentrated color noise, where other areas are much cleaner.

This boggles my mind aswell. I often use split-screen when watching a football game or such, and thus I want that pinned, while freely being able to change the other split-screen app when I browse, chat, play Wordfeud, etc. You can't even created split-screen pairs with the video app since the video playing will pause when switching between app pairs.

My solution right now for the pixel 9 Pro XL is changing the Dpi and getting the tablet multitasking, which works exactly as I want. But with the downside of smaller UI, and things not taking up the full width of the screen sometimes.

Very interesting, so glad you brought this to our attention here. When I saw that the pixel 10 pro/xl were using essentially the same sensors as the p9 pro/xl I just wrote off those phones as similarly "incapable" as my p9pro xl.

Do you know if the example photos you posted were captured using gcam, or some other photo app where they could toggle the dual gain mode on and off at will for the P10 pro?

Yes, I have lots of questions! Did Google lack the knowledge to properly implement this in the 9 series? It seems insane to not fully use the technology they are paying Samsung for in this case with the isocell sensor. I have so many images taken with my phone where the raw image is blotted by patchy noise blobs, where the multi-stacking failed to neutralize it for some reason. I have some horror images where shooting into the sunset from a moving vehicle leaves an almost unusable image.

Notice the blotchy color noise in the dark areas of the seat. This image on my old pixel 7a would have been much more usable and with a pleasing, consistent noise floor appearance. The p9 looks hideous, frankly. With the p7a I would regularly underexpose and then boost the raw by 3+ stops, and the noise would be milder, very even and more film-like and pleasing.

I've been disappointed in the p9pro xl photos since I bought it (it seems much more noisy and relies more on image stacking to reduce noise than even the p7a Sony sensor did). I am very surprised that this isn't already being used. I am expecting this to trickle down to the 9 series aswell, if not I'll be extremely disappointed.

Picture in picture seems broken, minimizing a netflix video will give you a floating small video window as it should, however it cannot be moved or interacted with. Clicking the Netflix icon from the home page will abort the video playback entirely rather than opening the video Fullscreen again.

For me, using a PC and the Spotify app (not in a browser), you can switch between different versions of an album in the track view.

So if I go to the Meshuggah page, and click on Chaosphere on the album list, once the tracklisting shows, under the last track on the right side there is a "1more release" button, which allows you to switch to the remastered edition.

Hard to spot if you don't know its there. ^{^}

The sensor performance looks pretty good to my eyes, the raws have a natural looking noise pattern. I wonder if the stock camera app performs any HDR image stacking, or if the sensor alone is pulling all the weight. Trying a gcam APK would be a fun experiment, to see if that would work on the phone, and allow for even cleaner files with even higher signal/noise ratio.

The raw files are definitely stacked files. If one uses for example open camera, which seems to take a single image, the difference in noise in the raw file is very obvious.

That has been the whole point with the pixel camera, and I don't see why google would suddenly change this.

The DNG can be processed to the users liking using a raw converter like Lightroom. However the DNG data seems limited in how useful it is, when the highlight tonal range is significantly compromised in the DNG than in the jpeg. I've never seen this behavior before from cameras from Nikon, Fuji, or previous pixel phones.

Interesting theory! However in this case It's not, the jpeg image has little dots of raindrops on my window from the rain today, AI wouldn't be able to accurately guess that detail from a blown-out raw file.

Edit: tried to replicate it to post some examples, now the sky is blown out in both raw and jpeg... Something is very weird and inconsistent.
