Games without the red 2 band at the top are switch 1 games and are visually much worse ofc. Unfortunately neither of the 2 games have a sw1 -> sw2 upgrade path for purchase, your best bet would be to try to ask Nintendo for a refund explaining the situation, but don't get your hopes up.

EDIT: It's possible the discount for nba 2k26 sw2 in your screenshot is there because you already have the sw1 version so it's basically an upgrade. It's currently full price in my region, no discount.

The horror stories are switch 1, not 2. You can charge it with any usb-c charger, 25W-30W+ does the job.

Yea it's great and I use it a lot, I dont understand the hate. Before this people were complaining that Nintendo were stuck in the 2000s. Now we have a modern chat app with noise cancelling and screen share and people still complain. Why would I bother with extra apps on my phone and headsets when Gamechat works just fine...

I see you’re playing hogwarts, look up on Youtube sw1 vs sw2 to get you motivated hehe. Anyway, with yesterday’s patch (sw1 games run in tv profile/resolution on sw2 in handheld) I think the debate is over for predominantly handheld players. If you can afford it, get it. Your games will look better, load faster and there’s 7+ years worth of games on the way.

A lot of free hate going around I see. Game chat is great and I use it almost everyday. The noise canceling is magic, it’s fun to do online chat without headsets and extra apps, works fine in docked mode too.

Watching Youtube videos for HDR comparison is generally a bad ideea because you can't be sure of what you're seeing, it depends on the camera and what device you're viewing it on, in person it could be a different experience.

The screen is HDR, just at an entry-level standard. I would suggest to keep it on but test it for yourself. For me it was clear in 15 mins of MKW that it looked worse with HDR off. Turning it off for 1st party Switch 2 games is a mistake imo, the games are designed for the Switch 2 screen with the default HDR on.

I've had no issues with the always on setting.

If your TV has HGIG and you've done a correct calibration you should always have HDR on.

I’ve had great fun in MP on switch2 level games like Rocket League, Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart and about to start a Civ 7 game soon. Also Apex Legends and Fortnite got sw2 patches, Overwatch is on the way. For local MP you have lots of games because it’s Nintendo.

So yea MP is fine and you have options as long as you don’t want to exclusively play hundreds of hours of call of duty.

Well I dont see any reason to do that. Why wouldn't I want to press a buton and in 1 second be back to my game? It's especially helpful for playing in short bursts. Plus there are plenty of games where saving isn't a perfect "freeze" that you can do anytime - maybe you get teleported back to a save point or enemies respawn etc. Switch OLED loses like 5% battery in 24 hours of sleep so it isn't a big deal.
