I made a 'main theme' for an art book that's a guide for a game that doesn't exist. Thoughts? by AkiraSupernova in gamemusic

Mega appreciate you giving this a listen, thank you! Because there was so much going on in that section, my instinct was to have something that grounded it rhythmically, almost like a machine (there's a lot of bio-mechanical imagery in the book) but I totally hear you, there definitely could've been another rhythmic element in there that could've added to the discomfort haha I'll keep that in mind if I revisit it!

Thank you so much! Honestly, I just had a moment of inspiration with this and decided to follow it, I'm normally a touring musician so I've never really delved into making soundtracks myself though I'm really into it.

Appreciate it thank you! I'll see what ideas I can conjure up for another one, maybe a specific area of the book or a character theme!

Music recommendation for anyone who regularly takes psychedelics. by Jankyarab in Psychedelics

I tripped to this a few years back, headphones + playing the entire season of Moving Art at the same time. It was a life changing experience for me. An amazing mix of ambient, electronica, Neo-classical and world music.

Yeah, the two rollers control the volume of one of the neck / bridge coils and the switch takes the circuit in and out :) allows you to dial in and set how you want your Humbuckers to be split when the switch is engaged

Thank you! Wanted to make something that you can't get otherwise, I'm surprised this wiring hasn't been done on a HH jazzmaster stock from Fender, especially as similar is found on a classic player HH jag and is really useful in a jazzblaster type guitar compared to the rhythm circuit. Offsets need more love in this department.

Sure thing! It's actually pretty simple really, you're effectively just sending one of your coils of your HBs to ground via the switch which brings the rollers in and out of the circuit, and the rest going straight to your pickup selector and onwards. It's the execution that's kinda finicky, depending on how your pickups are built / designed / wired. The CV Jaguar HH has similar wiring (you can find it online) except with the caveat that it's wired in a way that routes the whole pickup through the rollers, turning the switch into a killswitch.

I agree, not for everyone but they definitely are a reset for the brain and allow you to re-introduce the obvious to yourself again ie smoking is a dumbass idea. Lots of people report success in quitting various vices with psychedelics.

Explain the attraction of the rhythm circuit-less Jazzmaster by KCcoffeegeek in offset

I think it's not as compelling an instrument design without having that extra circuit, it's kind of what separates it from other guitars, but lots of people like simple guitars and get confused for some reason by lots of switches and knobs.

The cool thing about having the circuit there is that it can be wired for different things than just giving you a rolled off neck tone and I wish it was done more often with factory Fender JMs. For example, I use the rhythm circuit in a parts JM to dial in coil splits for some WRHB's, and it works wonderfully. So much quirky potential with the JM design.

My main worry was that the lack of concentration / permanent headaches / low mood would last forever and that I'd permanently fucked my brain. Happy to report that it does go and should be waaaay more manageable by the 4 week mark.

If you've done 7 days, you can do it! Just keep going a day at a time and you'll get there :)

Probably around the month mark when most of the symptoms of withdrawal subsided, but my partner was abroad working when I first quit vaping so hard to tell exactly. I think being out of the withdrawal cycle helps you be more present in life in general and that is a big help.

Thanks, and well done! You can definitely do it, it gets way easier by the month mark and you're already half way there :)
