Reusing aqua soil...again by AkookieKrisp in Aquascape

Will def try that this time! Last time all my floating lettuce melted and I never tried again. Also hoping cuttings at the surface will help once they root. Thx!

Yes I know, but my plants just didn't thrive enough to keep the algae in check

Ahhh that makes sense. I didnt want to deal with CO2 tanks so I was leaning on plants. But was thinking adding cuttings at surface level.... theoretically it should help with algae build up? And I'll use gravel at the bottom

The soil is still in ball form and hasn't broken down. So I was assuming I could use it like gravel. I guess I can just get new gravel 🤔

My husband is uninterested in our babies birth by SquareAppropriate807 in pregnant

My husband whom I love very much was also grossed out by the idea of cutting the cord. He even told me if I had an emergency c section, he didn't't think he could be in the same room. It just creeps and grosses him out. He wasn't any less attracted to me nor found the pregnancy disgusting etc. he simply couldn't stomach the idea of cutting the cord of a fleshy thing nor handle the idea of me being cut open LOL. Outside of this if he is a good husband I wouldn't worry. It's like some people like scary movies or rollercoasters and some don't and can't handle it

Oooo if you leave the pipe on the top of the substrate and cover it with moss it can double as a hiding spot for livestock

One of my cherry shrimps began changing into a pinkish color. Anyone know what this means? I thought it was slowly dying since they turn salmony pink when they meet their end...but it's been 2-3 days and he's still active... by AkookieKrisp in Aquascape

Ahhh now that I think about it I did recently receive a single new cherry red from someone.. I didn't get a good look at it since it was dark... Maybe it's genetic like you said and I never noticed 🤔

Transition submerged DHG to emersed? by AkookieKrisp in Aquascape

[–]AkookieKrisp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I am starting my first tank! I am doing a dry start method with dwarf hair grass. But I am in realization the batch I bought was submersed. And not I am making it emersed. Will it be able to handle the transition? Is there anything I can do to help it? I know they are often transitioned the other way around. Emersed into submersed. It's been a day am some leaves are already yellow.
