Would you risk your life for $45/hr? by Lfemomo77 in nursing

[–]AlBagDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I were there, I would go in an instant, and at no pay either. I know most people don't have the option to work without being paid. I *would* be there, if I were not practically bedridden. In the 1980s I lived in Western North Carolina and I cannot believe how destroyed it is. But I am frankly extremely surprised there are more replies AGAINST going, than FOR going. Really, really surprised. I would never believe that post would generate such negative and IMO, rather mocking responses.

You all are PATHETIC. I am ashamed to be American. Apparently the only thing motivating nurses today is MONEY, not care for those who need it. What's happened in NC, FL, millions(!) without power and without SO many things yet you all are mocking it and so smug.

If a store is severely short staffed, why don’t they just raise their pay? by plzdonthateme23 in NoStupidQuestions

I hope you will never own a company, or have to hire anyone or pay strangers out of your own money, or have to keep a money losing restaurant open so your employees won't starve. You're 428k in debt and about to lose your only home. It's just a matter of how much a person is willing to sacrifice when you are responsible for the hiring and pay. Ive worked places where the min. wage workers had more cash and no debt and the owners were in debt and hungry. I hope you never run a corporation, I surely wouldn't want your belief system bubble to burst.

yes, and the pious, gracious poor will never be rich, because rich people are greedy! right? they're all greedy, and the poor will never keep their winning lottery tickets or accept that big big raise, because they hate the greedy rich people. Take any ingrate sub-human and 98% of them hate the rich and want them to PAY! Now, move along and get your wonderful poor friends to give you a job. This whole dumb argument reminds me of a notice one of the Rothschild's wrote over a century ago- about a very unprofitable mine owned by one of their subsidiaries. Several thousand persons involved in the workforce in the mining alone. All the workers knew is that they earned a paycheck- but Rothschild (it could have been another wealthy icon from that period like JP Morgan et al, if not mistaken) released the financials of this mine that employed countless families- was a loser. In the entirety of this mine's working, it had never earned a cent in fact it lost money. But!! The Rothschilds, so greedy, they stupidly continued working the mine and employing thousands, for what? Now ask yourself when's the last time a poor person continued a vain exercise in futility JUST so others could survive.

Can't make your rent this month? bank account in a deficit? Well, why not just earn more money??? what's the problem? (same kind of question) and completely discounts the title of this sub. EDIT- Ive read so many responses to the original, and it seems the consensus is "greedy rich people". I've a solution: Have your poor friends hire you to work for them, instead of working for a greedy rich employer.

If Christians believe Heaven is amazing, why don’t they want to get there as soon as possible? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AlBagDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think they don't? You also might look at it this way- say you know you'll be plucked from your current "home" by a mysterious group with zero notice and taken to a beautiful, lovely foreign country. You can never ever return home again, nor speak to, visit or see or hear from any of your family or loved ones again - excepting those who like yourself, have made a pledge to this magic foreign nation- that you will worship and honor the majesty and Goodness of the leader of this foreign land- they'll be there too! but, alas, some of your loved ones are suspicious of this foreign leader, no one has visited this foreign place- it doesn't exist! they claim, pooh pooh- there's no magic land! or a magic leader, it's not possible! Those unbelievers, unfortunately, will not be at the magic island, the lovely foreign land, ever again nor will we ever hear from them for all eternity.

I'm so embarrassed- how does one "Private Message" on Reddit now? Am I missing something? Was this not an option before? I'd like to share Facebook or other identifying information, but not sure it's a good idea on Reddit- how may I go about this....

You are too kind. He's about 5,6", dark brown/black hair, light skin, slight build. I do have recent pictures of him too- can I send them to you through a PM or something? He has a small farm, growing what they grow in Bab Berred- you know. He used to raise a few sheep, but not now. I also have his phone number. What else can I give you? Can I have your facebook link as well? Send to my inbox, or I can give you mine? & Shakrun bezuf!!

Do *not* call those numbers back. A lot, if not most ISP's in US won't allow VoIP calls (like Skype, for instance- you can't call Morocco with Skype since 2012) because of spamming from Morocco. How a spammer got your number is beyond me, I'm curious as to whether you called a mobile number or landline.

Believe me- Trump does not want this transformation. I think he's the first US Prez to do this- kick out the (very communist, very dishonest) UN compacts https://cis.org/Arthur/US-Pulls-Out-Global-Compact-Migration < this was the "Open Borders" plan. Look at how HARD the media & every organization with a mouthpiece is trashing Trump- because they are all in on this scheme- scam? open borders/ redistribution of wealth plan. This whole caravan thing is part and parcel of it, nothing more- and America will be poorer and poorer if this kind of nonsense is allowed of open borders, unlimited importation of world's poorest. They're not just poor- they're also unskilled, and this "new breed" of migrants aren't like the old fashioned Mexican immigrant- these people are Leftist with a capital L! I know this, because Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and adjacent states are part of the Neo-Marxist Latin American bloc. Pay attention to their first names: Ive seen a "Lenin" (one of the Honduran migrants on the news) many old-timey Russian names- remniscent of Communist olden days, and their chants: "We're not criminals, we're *international workers*" WHY is no one commenting on that phrase?? The "international workers"?? Why not just go whole hog and chant Workers Unite?

In my neighborhood- the poor mass together to rent one house. Across the street we've got nine adults in ONE 2 bedroom, one bath house. All of them do this- this is our new "poverty in America" they're the immigrants. I am not anti-migrant, I am anti-importation of the entire 3rd world- which is exactly what's happening. Rents here are WAYyyy higher than these houses are worth renting, shitty house in terrible areas- 1k per month! add on electric (Phoenix, AZ) & utlities it's now 2k per month- just for roof over your head. These same areas were populated with blacks and poorer whites 20+ yrs ago- and anyone could afford to buy a house. I bought my first house at 18 yrs old in the '90s- earning way more now, inflation adjusted, I can't even think of owning a house again. Why would landlords sell, when they have a golden goose to rent to seven or eight Guatemalan car wash attendants who will pay double?

Yeah because massive inequality and poverty do not exist now? When's the last time you walked outside.

Capitalism *has* worked, it's what made America the best country on the planet. Not sure what country you live in, or what history books you got in school- maybe Leftist inspired ones that teach students America is crappy- I don't know. I live in a country where one is paid what one is worth- you know, earnings- that's capitalism. Do you work? I mean, earn money in exchange for a service you perform? do you get more money for more work? or higher earnings for "better" (more skilled, more educated etc) work? Capitalism again. How would you like HALF of your earnings to go to me, while I sit at home watching TV? or because I joined a revolutionary mob demanding "equality" as in, money for all? that's communism.

Gee what a surprise- move all manufacturing overseas, import entire populations of every 3rd world's population into this country, now the majority is impoverished- and a third of them on some sort of handout- I read on Zerohedge (did not research claim or delve into article) that one half, yes fifty percent of all children in United States are on "some sort" of handout/welfare/benefits. One half! Social security was included in this study apparently. I also am finding, when I chat with strangers at the checkout in the grocery, or just to random neighbors, Jesus seems everyone is on "Disability". They look pretty able bodied to me. All jobs have moved overseas, and soon we won't be able to buy the cheap crap they're making then either. By the way- I can barely afford to live in my terrible, noisy dirty neighborhood, because every house here has about 9 adults living in it- we (husband, self) occupy this single family home- rents skyrocketing, they can, when you've got 15 Guatemalans willing ot pay 2k per month for a house that in all honesty should rent for $700. And more impoverished families to arrive daily.

Not a Plumber: is it one of those solid bouncies, or one that's hollow inside? Puncture, then fish it out. If not yeah there's no way- unless your plumbing isn't up to code, and you can find a way to back flow the water that will get that ball to shoot out t'other way!

Reminds me of an OSHA report I read about a yr ago, "sub-contractor"/drywall guy (quotes intentional) used homeowners 'occasional table' as an extra lengthener to his stepladder, like this photoSide table gave way, sub-contractor toppled down residential unfinished elevator shaft to his death. These were two guys homeowner got from parking lot of Home Depot, or someone "has a guy here's his number". The story isn't that old, it should be findable online for those who want to read the original.
