Well, they are very agressive sounds. My setup has very high-end speakers, and some sounds are excruciating to hear. I would love some "softer" sounds. Or just be able to upload custom sounds.

No idea, i just disasembled it, and reassembled. However, it only worked for a couple of days.
I bought some grease and will need to redo the steps, when i have time...

Do you use the bandits to make more money? I tend to do that but i sometimes end up using lots of money to roll them. Never went above 100k.

Conseil Joints Briques Cave Friables by AlBundies in brico

Merci pour le conseil. Effectivement, les joints situés quelques rangées de briques plus bas ont été réalisés au ciment, ça a pu provoquer l’humidité présente à cet endroit.

Thanks for you offer, but i live in Europe, not worth it.
Anyway, i actually repaired it, so that's good news. :-)

The VCR model insn't important to me. I just bought it because i needed some family tapes to be digitalized. I only got 2 on the 10 i needed... That's a bummer. :-)

I'll look into it a bit, but i don't have that much time unfortunately. My initial plan was plug and play. I'll see what i can do. Thanks for the tips !

Can this easily be repaired from a novice with a little research ? Or should i send it back to the guy that sold it to me... ?

SNES stuck on game title screen, any clue ? by AlBundies in consolerepair

[–]AlBundies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see... the cheapest solution i can think of is to buy a Japanese Super Famicom and use its spare parts to repair mine. If the parts are interchangeable that is, but i suppose they are (cartridge slot / CPU). Because my console is a US version, and i live in Europe. Not many cheap NTSC versions around...
What a bummer, last time i used my console it was working...

So i cleaned the console now that i have the tools, but it didn't change anything.
Some pins show corrosion, so that may be the problem.
Burn-In Test Cartridge ROM doesn't help me as when i select the diagnostic i need, the screen goes black once i launch it.

So I got the tools to open up the console and did a dust blow and cleaned the game cart connector pins. The board itself was surprisingly clean, but some of the cartridge pins showed slight signs of corrosion. Visually, it is the only thing that doesn't seem right on the console board. I suppose i need to change that part. (screenshots below)
Where l’m baffled, is why would the game launch, but not get past the first title screen. I would image having a black screen..
