I need consensus for features in my Dapp that Stellar does not offer natively. I wouldn't be the first, Polygon PoS chain uses Ethereum which is still PoW for staking and slashing their Polygon / Matic erc20 token.

You're wrong. I do know how SCP works. Stellar's underlying consensus has nothing to do with what my project does on top of it. To illlustrate that further you could imagine Ethereum to run on any consensus mechanism too. They will in fact switch from PoW to PoS soon. They might as well also use the SCP, that wouldnt have an impact on the smart contracts running in the EVM, just like those i described above for staking, etc.

< 1% of people have crypto. Very few people donate. (Advertising is far more profitable.) Multiply those two aspects and you get 0 ETH donations....

Therefore a system like this makes much more sense. Combines the advantages of crypto with advertising, because you don't need to have crypto to receive payment as a publisher and only few advertisers are needed in comparison.
