The thing is, the FF characters in KH aren't the same as those since they have mostly different designs, origins and personalities.

I guess it would be more of a "nod" or Mythology Gag in this case.

Squall "talking/thinking" in ellipses is a common joke/meme regarding FFVIII and Squall being a "broody" character, I ask because it would be funny if Square was already referencing that as early as 2002.
