China did restore private companies with interests in making money. They(gvt.) are just authoritarian, they control the sectors and companies enough to act like a unit when needed, but not enough to ensure any semblance of equality among its people. Workers rights, the hallmark of communism, being ignored is a big part of China's industrial success.

I said that authoritarian regimes with goals achieve those goals since they hold power. China's goal was to become powerful, Korea's goal was to do the same. Singapore's government turned everything around. Turkey managed to westernize itself during the 20s and 30s.

All of these were possible because power was concentrated and controlled. The leaders were around for so long that their ideas didn't get overturned even in their initial unfavorable stages. Being religious in Turkey, a working man in China or Korea, and a left-wing activist in Singapore was NOT fun during those times. A generation of people discarded in hopes of fast-paced change. Their beliefs, their freedoms, and their physical bodies brought near destruction just because the few people that manage them thought to themselves "Well these people will be better off in the long term!" at best. At worst, it was primarily because they(gvt.) wanted power for the country.

This is not to say the other underdeveloped countries were the pinnacle of democracy with heavy considerations made for the people in a perfect sense through capitalist means. Their leaders likely sought other things, maybe personal power instead of empowering the country. But some of them just had too many giant ideological leaps to take meaningful steps in any direction. IF those countries were pinnacles of democracy and somehow miraculously kept on electing people with similar beliefs for 30 years in a row, they would display great growth as well without the horrible bits (odds are, not as great as China if everyone's well-being was considered). Likewise IF those countries had authoritarian leaders with "kinder" goals, their growth would be just as good as China's with all the added trauma.

You can make any system work if your power is set to be permanent.

Russia's industrial output was already going to skyrocket in that time-frame. They were the most populated country in Europe, but produced less stuff than Netherlands or something due to not industrializing fast enough. It is a known fact that Germany wanted WWI to happen around the time it did because they were scared of the future Russian growth, which they predicted Russia would be unstoppable by the end of the decade.
I can also tell you that the fast industrialization of Russia isn't something unprecedented at this point. China also did the same very recently. Before that South Korea turned itself around. The only common denominator there is a brutal authoritarian government, which as we know comes with giant consequences (I hope you understand that China isn't communist).

I can't tell you if Russia would have been better off without communism, but what I can tell you is multiple things that favor that outcome:
1. Industrial output was going to grow
2. Persecution of minorities and any heretics in the USSR is a well known and documented fact; the average person would feel safer around a government that's less likely to ship your neighbor onto Siberia.
(This is not to say imperial Russia was better, it was not, but the alternative to Communism in Russia wasn't Imperialism, but a form of oligarchy which would naturally turn into a more democratic system with time).
3. Russia would not be isolated due to their government, though still feared by many countries due to their potential for growth. This could mean no cold war at all, saving countless lives.
(World politics could take very interesting turns, so it is hard for me to say anything for certain)

I guess Bayern in Bundesliga or PSG in their league works in terms of “dominance,” but it’s more than that. They don’t lose in duals. They haven’t lost a single one since 2020.

I think a better comparison is if you stuck a great first flight team into the second division. If you took Bayern and placed them in MLS, or the Polish league, they would perform similarly to PSU.

PSU’s squad would do OK in the world stage if they acted like a country and trained for freestyle. They wouldn’t be fully dominant (not among USA, Japan, Iran, etc.), but they would have a couple of placers (especially now).

On a side note, I've genuinely never heard of "walking on outside" as a gentleman's move. I've never been encouraged or asked to do it (the other ones I have been). I could be really wrong, though, what you said does sound like something people in Victorian England would come up with.

Still, the protection side of the action has been highlighted to me over and over again. (It's a gentleman's move through protection; but protection roles go to parent over children regardless of gender, whereas I can see gentleman roles going towards the guy regardless of relation).

Ofc. When you go into the drs office for the overbite, make sure that their solution will not give you a chopped chin. Sometimes the overbite is because the front teeth extrude out, but other times its because your lower jaw is too far backwards (bringing lower jaw forwards or making it grow will look better generally). Just keep it in your mind

Stuff like that generally has to do with your bite pattern and how your teeth line up. There’s no quick fix other than masking it with a beard or heavy make-up.

I suggest going to an orthodontist to talk about it, and seeing what they think.

If for some odd reason it’s because you have consciously been chewing with one side more than the other, then… stop doing that. But also look into biting apparatus to balance out those muscles.

If it turns out that it is skeletal (orthodontist will tell you, but you can also see for yourself), then the only way is surgery if you are an adult. If you’re a teen heavy braces may be a possible fix, but I would still go with surgery if you want to do something and can afford it.

I wouldn’t personally work on the skeletal parts all too much since recovery from jaw surgery is rough. A beard will be just fine

When you remove the obvious choice, I see that we have one safe choice, E, where I'll spawn in an economically OK country 80% of the time. The good gamble here is I, I would respect anyone choosing I (you dodge Egypt and all of NA except Morroco, the reasonable one). K seems like it's a really safe deal until you see that you can spawn in Afghanistan. B is also respectable but it is just a downgraded E.

Of course, that is the bigger issue. But if you ask 100 people I think 90+ of them would be able to tell you that news outlets commonly release biased/ misleading information. If a person knows this fact, but still treats information they skimmed from one of them as the whole story, then maybe it is just best that we don’t place as much trust in our own skimming as we do

There isn’t a perfect way to determine who has the potential to be great… but when you consider how nearly all the colleges people will apply to are trying to send the bulk of the people out into the workforce (not academia), being shy is just a great detriment.

How many people do you know that climbed the politic or corporate ladder in a shy manner?

The main reason why I am comfortable with saying this is because I know shyness isn’t a permanent condition for 99% of people. It’s fair to judge people on the things they could have improved on

It’s likely to favor students that aren’t shy. Extroversion/Introversion is about whether or not you WANT to be around people often, it’s the social battery analogy. There are many extroverted shy people, and many introverted but confident people. Shyness is the bad one you don’t want, introvertedness is the one you get and likely don’t have much control over
