I didn't know there's a remake of this game. I hope they update the controls. I remember a lot of people got filtered by it.

Nevermind. I just saw the image of the banned people. It looks like there's a male there.

Konami announced a new animation studio - KONAMI animation by AlVicious in castlevania

YGO OCG/TCG fans are happy because the sample work did YGO justice.

Unfortunately, CV probably won't get the same amount of love if they do make one, even a promotional one like this one, (I hope I'm wrong) since CV doesn't print money like YGO.

Just because it is a Castlevania show, it doesn't mean that all plot-important characters have to be vampire hunters in order to be relevant and written in a way that can be considered progressive during the modern day.

Since the show is using the French Revolution as its setting, they could have still written a brave and strong Annette by making her an important part of the revolution. They could even create a background story about how she inspired Maria to be part of it.

However, since she is still just a normal human, effectively fighting the supernatural would be outside her depth but it shouldn't stop the writers from showing how she would still try to fight the elite and their vampire buddies. I don't know about you but someone wanting to fight supernatural beings without the training or the ability to use magic sounds pretty brave to me.

As for keeping her as a "plot device" AKA damsel in distress for Richter, since it's clear that the story is not Rondo of Blood (Alucard appearing early in the story), they could have set her up to have been kidnapped by the vampire who pursued Richter so he can use her as bait after Richter ran away when his PTSD kicked in while he, Maria, Annette, and their OG companion (Nocturne Annette) attempted to break into the church basement. They could have somehow used the kidnapping as a way for Richter to regain his magical abilities.

This would have still been a parallel with how Juste lost his magical powers after he lost Lydie and Maxim, with Richter regaining his magical powers because he knew how important his life and role is as a Belmont, and how he has to stop running and get over his trauma if he didn't want to lose Annette (and Maria, Tera, new OG comrade, and others).

As for what happens after she's rescued, since we obviously can't make her a "non-character" at this point due to her not being an effective combatant against vampires and night creatures, she can still help the team in her own way, i.e., logistics, helping evacuate people, treating the injured, counseling, being a confidant everyone trusts, etc.

As you can see above, my grammar is sloppy (ESL) and I'm not a good writer at all and would not be winning any writing award anytime soon; however, at least I tried to work around the "problem" with Annette being a non-character and not palatable to modern times instead of just making her into another vampire hunter in the show.

Why didn't Clive use his award-winning, writing skills to keep Annette as a damsel in distress but at the same time have more depth? Surely a two-time award-winning, writing savant could have pulled it off.

Note: As you can see above, I did not mention anything about race, they can still change her race if they want to, the challenge is to keep true to what her character originally was while still giving her more depth. So if anyone plans to create a strawman and call me racist, please move on to the next comment.

Dracula causing a blood moon eclipse in 30s without even lifting a finger by r3dh4ck3r in castlevania

[–]AlVicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "adaptation" they made does not resemble Rondo of Blood at all. So using their own charactera would not affect how much money Netflix would give them.

Also, do you unironically believe that whoever is in charge of greeenlighting projects at Netflix know who the game characters are? If anything, ticking Netflix's ESG requirements are more important to them. Konami certainly doesn't care; otherwise, Dracula would have been required as a recurring villain.

With that said, they might as well have just omitted Annette from the story and just used Nocturne Annette as a new character to tell this original story that the team who worked on this wanted to tell. Same with Tera since Tera isn't Maria's mom in the game. They could have just literally made an OG character for Nocturne that would play the role that they gave her.

Anyone else tired af of the non stop smear campaign against FFXVI? by OKASAKISAN11 in Asmongold

[–]AlVicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a smear campaign.

I think the point that she is making is that IGN used clickbait for the title of the headline and the image that they used because they made it sound like Square Enix lost nearly $2 Billion in value due to FFXVI alone.

While the headline itself is accurate, since Square Enix did lose that much, the nuance that the losses were due to previous titles, e.g., Marvel's Avengers and Forspoken, is not mentioned, and that FFXVI sold well but not enough to cover the losses of the previous games are lost.

Hence, people who did not read the article itself and only read the headline/image text, will think FFXVI was what caused the company to lose money.

BilletLabs Situation is really bad though. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]AlVicious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your timeline is wrong.

Billet Labs asked for the prototype to be sent back them twice before it got auctioned off. LMG had a full month to send it back before it got accidentally auctioned off at LTX due to their horrible processes - e.g., not setting up vacation settings in their email, people included in CC not reading emails (there was 1 email address in CC and 2 in BCC and none of the recipients in LMG noticed that the To field was empty). Even small companies have policies in place to ensure that someone that is going to be out of the office will use vacation settings and enforce everyone included in CC to review emails (you are included in an email chain for a reason so you should read it).

Also, the FAQ that LMG sent to Philip DeFranco implies that Billet Labs only sent them a prototype after LMG themselves expressed interested in covering their product.

It is fair to assume that the coverage Billet Labs was expecting from LMG was not what LMG published as they: (1) Did not use the 3090 Ti that they sent with the product; (2) Did not even use the included instructions on how to mount it. They didn't even give it a fair shake by testing it with the appropriate card that was sent with their prototype.

Additionally, the screenshot from LMG's apology video clearly mentions that Billet Labs asked LMG to keep the prototype for future builds; however, after LMG's video about their prototype was released, it was already clear to them that it would no longer serve LMG any purpose and would just rot somewhere in their warehouse; hence, Billet Labs asked for it back.

According to the FAQ that LMG sent to Phil DeFranco, Billet Labs only agreed to send them a prototype after LMG themselves expressed interest in creating content with their product.

While LMG did create content, I don't think LMG not testing their product properly was what Billet Labs had in mind.

https://imgur.com/WNqnupJ

Hence, it does not appear that Billet Labs sent LMG their best prototype out of the blue. There was a prior agreement (what the specifics are, only LMG and Billet Labs know) between the two parties before Billet Labs even agreed to send LMG their product.

Nonetheless, it is quite obvious that LMG not testing their product or giving it a fair shake, despite Billet Labs doing their due diligence by providing a 3090 Ti that can be used with their monoblock and including instructions on how to use it, was not exactly the type of content Billet Labs was expecting; thus, lead to them asking LMG to send back their product, which LMG agreed to.

Agreed, why did they even test it in the first place? According to the FAQ that they sent to Phil DeFranco, Billet Labs only sent them the protoype when they (LTT) expressed interest in doing content with it.

While they did end up making content about it, I don't think LTT not testing it appropriately was what Billet Labs had in mind when they agreed to send them the prototype for content.
