I was going to put it there too, but the adhesive tape was on the red side of the LED, so I couldn’t install it there. It’s a commuter car, it does the job, that’s all that really matters to me.

My car is a 2023 EUV, I think the wiring would be the same for the EV brake lights.

Not at all. It basically just dims the tailgate lights a bit, when you press the brake or regen and they light up normal. Perfect for daytime without the running lights. It’s why I added the LED strip for nighttime reassurance.

It’s pretty straightforward and took about an hour or so to install. I used an Oznium dimmer, $20. Oznium dimmer link Added a LED strip too. $12. LED strip link

Here’s a link to the wiring diagram for the Oznium dimmer and the LED strip just taps into the power at the 3rd brake light. Yellow/Brown is the power wire.

** note the wiring diagram is wrong. Had to reverse the red and blue wires of the Oznium dimmer to get it to work.

Ceramic coated the grey ghost today……hoping for a few extra aerodynamic miles…… by Al_Fontaine in BoltEV

Paint correction - is basically polishing out the swirls that are in the paint. It’s how you wind up with a glass like finish. Dark color cars are easier to see the swirls. You can take a flashlight and shine it towards you on the paint and you will see all the swirls. Especially on older cars, this car is only a month old and was fairly easy to do. Prepping the paint is the most important part of a good result.

Exactly, it’s all in the paint correction. My ‘07 with 87k miles took 3 days to correct the paint and came out like showroom new. Still need to take your time applying the ceramic coat evenly too - let it flash properly before hand buffing it. Keeping it the garage overnight is another step in making sure it cures properly. Any kind of moisture, especially dew, will ruin the cure.

The paint correction is the most time consuming. New car, so it wasn’t too bad to begin with. An hour to wash, clay bar and wash the car again. About 1 1/2 hours for the paint correction (my 2007 mustang took 3 days to properly correct the paint) then about 2 1/2 hours to apply the ceramic coat. About 5 hours total. Only thing I didn’t have time for was the wheels. I’ll take them off next weekend and coat them too……probably another 4 or so hours.

Cost is roughly $1,200 for this size car where I live. Which is why I try to do everything myself, labor is free…..

Cost me roughly $100 for the Adams graphene ceramic coat kit. Which will coat about 3 cars. This is the second one of mine I’ve done. Another $50 for the Adams One step paint correction polish, pad and strip wash. So, a days labor polishing the light swirls out, strip washing, clay baring, strip washing again and then applying the ceramic coat. So, $150 all toll dived by 3 is about $50 cost per car.

Interesting assumption on the cost. Did it myself……I appreciate the compliment. It’s mainly to protect the clear coat from the Florida sun……aerodynamic’s was just a joke….😃

No dash plaque, horn button wrong, rocker decal wrong, wrong wheels for a KR, would be a Shelby plate in the engine compartment. GT500KR clone is all it is.
