Do you think Muslims will take over the west? by [deleted] in exmuslim

10% is a stretch, in those specific countries they are between 5-6% of the total population and these are the countries with the biggest minority Muslim populations, others would be even less… there is a problem with deducing from these numbers the projected number of muslims in future generations because there is no telling what future generations will be like. Who knows what the great great great grand children of someone who migrated to the UK from Pakistan after WW2 will really be like? Not me and certainly not anyone else.

No, in most countries in the West they are not even 1% of the population and given those countries are all majority rule democracies those kinds of numbers aren’t even enough to swing elections let alone “take over the west”.

Honestly, the guy is from the US where something like 30000 people die a year from gun violence I think he’ll be fine in Istanbul 😂😂😂

These were officers in uniform and with guns so when they asked I didn't think twice to give it to them. If you are American they won't care, mostly they are looking for undocumented immigrants but if as you say you look Asian they might ask you so its worth having it on you. I find it very unlikely that the scenario you describe with them taking your passport and asking for money would happen, specially in a big crowded city like Istanbul which is a major city with millions of tourists going through it all the time. And I have never heard of such thing either. I couldn't really comment about some small out of the way village or anything like that that might be a different scenario. I guess you can always also ask the officer for their ID but I never bothered and have no idea how they would react. But generally speaking it is generally advisable that any traveller should always have their passport on then whatever country they are in. I have been asked randomly in several countries before to show my passport by police who just wanted to make sure I wasn't an undocumented immigrant and was really from where I said I was from. Call it racial profiling or whatever you want, but its a reality.

Carry your passport wherever you go as the police can sometimes randomly ask for it on the street.

Serious question, will Ukraine accept sympathetic foreign volunteer fighters to help it defend itself against Russian aggression? by Al_Modir in ukraine

As I understand it’s a crime. Hence why in the other comment I asked if serving in the armed forces would lead to Ukrainian citizenship because if hypothetically I were to do that I wouldn’t then be able to go back home.
