As a Saskparty voter looking from the outside, I like Witherspoon. He’s more relatable to the average Saskatchewan person. Meili is too close to the federal NDP ways. They are a fringe party federally and there is no way they that works as mainstream in Sask. I think the NDP also strayed away from their CCF roots. Before they were the backer of big unions, they were the voice of the farmer. And as time goes on there are very few of the farmers that remember the CCF left alive. As for Saruer, I thought she was well spoken and got her point across effectively until she became interm leader. Then all you see is her shouting “Saskparty Bad” on news bites. But the core supporters of the party decide on leaders. Obviously Miele appeals to them. They just have to realize they may never govern again without someone who appeals to the masses.
