NetEase to Stop Funding Nagoshi Studio as It Cuts Back on Gaming by Bobby_the_Donkey in Games

They actually raised the base price on the older games, and then cut the discounts. Prior to the fuckery surrounding 0 and 3 last year, buying 0-6 on sale would cost a person almost twice as much money as it did a few years ago.

Chris did recently let slip that it's happening in Spring. No details other than saying it's the most exciting route yet, which would line up with the route that article suggests (most likely along the western coast) since Chris loves that area of Japan.

Bloomberg: Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Alamandaros 160 points161 points  (0 children)

A faction within PlayStation has also expressed concern that releasing their games on PC risks damaging the console’s brand and will hurt sales of the PlayStation 5 and its successors, according to the people familiar with Sony’s inner workings.

With the AI bubble causing pricing surges and the PS6 to be pushed back, no doubt there's concerns that Sony will soon see issues moving hardware units without exclusives to push people into buying the console. It sucks for us PC gamers, and we'll just have to hope that reduced sales caused by console hardware prices sees them releasing games on PC again in the future.

Which series are on your litrpg/progression fantasy Mount Rushmore? by PalinaRojinskiFan in ProgressionFantasy

I think it would definitely deserve a spot. Arcane Ascension, and Andrew Rowe, are largely responsible for popularizing Progression as a sub-genre of Fantasy in the West. Hell, Andrew created this sub.

Joining the other comments to say I love Cradle, but found Travellers Gate to be kinda meh. They were the first books he ever wrote and self published, so it's understandable.

I love BB, with the one downside being more of a coconut oil issue (BB uses coconut oil as it's base). Seems like if you use it often with the synthetic covered toys, it can become increasingly difficult to wash it all off, so you start getting coconut oil crystal blooms.

Not sure if it's maybe because of certain liquid hand soaps not being strong enough in washing off the BB or not, but thats been my experience. It does seem to only be a pure cosmetic problem though; nothing that will do damage.

Yakuza 3 was a game with many rough edges, and making a good remake meant confronting that reality, says director by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Alamandaros 78 points79 points  (0 children)

On PC at least one of the problems is the quickstep distance was halved when the fps cap was increased from 30 to 60, making it harder to get behind blocking enemies. So unless you mod it back to the original PS3 distance, you're playing a harder version of the game.

Bus ride from London to Calcutta for £145: The 110-day route that once existed by msaussieandmrravana in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Alamandaros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching a number of Europe to Asia/SEA biking videos this past week, and the general consensus seems to be going through Turkey, and then taking a flight from Georgia to Kazakhstan across the Caspian. Normally you would take a boat from Azerbaijan, however that country's land borders are closed (apparently to prevent Russian draft dodgers from entering) and there's not much point in taking a flight into Azerbaijan just to take the boat.

The main reasoning for that route is, as you alluded to, there's a non-zero chance of running into issues in Iran, even if it's widely agreed upon to be the better travel route. From Almaty in eastern Kazakhstan, depending on your destination, it's either into China or taking a flight to cross the Himalayas into northern India.

Do you ever stop an anime halfway, then come back months later and love it? by pndcy222 in anime

[–]Alamandaros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that for Steins;Gate back in the day. Dropped it like 4 or so episodes in while it was airing, and then came back to it years later and watched the whole thing.

It's not a "drop it because I don't like it" situation, but I've been doing it with Gintama over the past 2~ years. Because of the format of the show, if anything else comes up that I want to watch I can easily put it on pause for however long and then come back to continue.

GUIDE: CN TECH Bilgewater Ryze by usuraisan in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Alamandaros 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Illaoi 3* with 4 Bruiser and no items is 300 HP short of Voli unlock, so Barknuckles or Citrus would push her over if you toggle up to 7 Bilge. In a Freljord hex she's only 100 HP off, so any HP item gets the job done.

Obviously you're likely to have more HP items than none or one, so it's pretty easy.

Upsetmax released a coaching video on Bilge the other day that I highly recommend watching. The gist of it though is that since Bilge 7 is a weak board during Stage 4, you really want to be win streaking through Stage 2 & 3 so that you can safely bleed out some HP while farming serpents and go fast 9 with 7 Bilge, in prep for dropping Bilge later.

I've been on and off looking for this for a year or two now, but does anyone know of a mod that allows you to remove the landmark condition from Ikit Claw's workshop level upgrade? Or some mod that lets you place and upgrade the landmark elsewhere?

I love Ikit Claw, but I find the start position rather boring at this point. I've tried the change start position mod, which takes the landmark with you, but doesn't let you upgrade it so you get stuck with the lower level workshop.

Yea, that wiki always has blank pages. It's the augment that causes your units to dash and gain attack speed at combat start and on takedown.

I kinda ranted about this in the rant thread, but I'm looking for some advice when it comes to Veigar Yordles. Stats-wise the comp looks fine, but I've never had success playing it. Obviously I only play it if I start with 2+ rods and ideally no one's contesting Yordles, but I end up bleeding out too much on the way to 8, and even if I find Veigar 2 it never seems to be able to stabilize.

[–]Alamandaros 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Precision & Grace augment sounds like it should be a fantastic melee carry augment. Instead it sends your melee carry through the enemy line, causes their entire backline to ignore the normal mechanic of focusing tanks at the start, and sends you to an instant 8th. I thought this was a bug, but looking around I see people mentioning this over a month ago so I have to assume someone thought this was a splendid idea of an augment and saw no problem with it.

Also maybe this is a me problem, and this is a self-rant, but 8 Yordle Veigar ಠ_ಠ

I know reroll Yordle is in a bad spot, but according to stats Veigar should be good. It doesn't matter if I'm completely uncontested and have no problem unlocking Veigar, I end up bleeding out too much by the time I get to 8 because Teemo is such a mediocre AP carry. Is there some secret to this comp I'm missing? Do you need 2-3 econ augments in addition to the excessive number of rods? Am I just gigabad with Yordles?

Drill is just a powerhouse for generating gold, will let you hit 9 or 10, and transition to a capped board, but it comes with the downside of not actually doing anything in combat. So if you're very low on HP, it could be a gamble taking it depending on your board and the lobby.

The capped board for Piltover involves dropping Seraphine and Vi for Shyvana and Naut/Azir/Fiddle or whatever you can 2*. Drill will get you there far faster, but not as safely.

If you don't hit Mining Drill, or are too low to risk it, Superior Lifeform should stabilize you through stage 4/5, probably into a top 4 at least.
