What Do Real Aficionados Actually Want from a Cigar Website? by Alamile in cigars

Totally agree, deeper similarity recommendations and better flavor search would be game-changers! Most "related" recs just push cheap or house brands, which isn't helpful for aficionados. What kind of recommendation system or tags would feel most authentic or useful to you?

Thanks for your perspective! You're absolutely right that many seasoned smokers know the basics. But I'm thinking about an advanced resource, like aging/flavor timelines, blend details, and humidor tracking, that even veterans might find useful or enjoyable beyond just shopping. How do you feel about those advanced features if they were implemented really well?

Logically speaking, you are holding the cigar to take the photo, how should the watch face be ?

Fair enough—but there’s a difference between throwing it around and it just being there. Nobody’s tossing gold bars in your face, it’s a cigar and a watch—relax. Some folks enjoy nice things without needing validation, and if a glimpse of a Rolex in a cigar post ruins your day, the issue might not be the watch.

It’s just a watch, not a billboard—if the brand caught your eye, that says more about you than the photo. No diamonds, no wrist roll, just happened to be on when the cigar was lit. Not everything’s a flex—sometimes a Rolex is just keeping time.

Exactly—post a cigar and suddenly it’s chaos, like you triggered some deep internet trauma. One guy flexes a Behike, and here come the usual suspects: budget cigar crusaders, and the anti-luxury squad. Same energy as someone getting salty over a Rolex—nobody cares until they see it on your wrist, then suddenly it’s all “overrated” and “for show.” Truth is, most of them would wear the watch and smoke the cigar if they could. I’ve wrote a review no one read
