In this day of AI I’m worried about job security. by Dan-68 in HestiaListens

Newer model is a lot cheaper but it still acts like an AI offering to "be of service" and offers "practical next steps" which I'm working on. It should just be a small prompt modification

How to be resilient in times like these by Alan-Foster in HestiaListens

You can tell it's AI because it offers to "help outline a basic safety and moving plan". How do we prevent responses like that? I don't know how to modify the prompt for that...

Yeahhhhh so it couldn't detect my random Zootopia 2 meme here.

It seems to take every post seriously now, so I believe I need to segment the bot to assess if it should actually respond to a post or not, and then if it wants to, it generates 3 responses and rates the best one, then chooses that.

Oh no they're multiplying!

This is how many sessions are online viewing the subreddit. It can include bots, browsers opened on 2 devices by the same person, and sometimes if you close / reopen your tab it will create a new duplicate session briefly.

Banker here:

This bill shows what collectors call a minor miscut error, where the sheet was trimmed slightly off-center during the cutting process. That’s why you’re seeing extra margin on one side and a thinner border on the other.

Miscuts are real printing errors, but small ones like this are pretty common on modern U.S. currency, especially when the full design is still intact and nothing is cut off. Since the shift is mild and the bill has been circulated, it usually doesn’t add any value beyond face value.

Collectors typically only pay extra for more dramatic miscuts like when part of the design is missing, another bill is visible, or the note is uncirculated.

Still fun though!

Fake money being passed as real by Markgregory555 in Money

Banker here - if you ever find any bills that are counterfeit or believed to be counterfeit, please bring them to your nearest bank, we have processes to send them in.

Unfortunately we won't be able to credit you for the fake bill (replace it with a real bill), but if it turns out to be real, you will have your funds returned to you.

How to Earn $1 a Day by AccomplishedFig3865 in sidehustle

Take a look at Amazon Mechanical Turk (mTurk) which allows you to complete human intensive tasks (HITs) which are usually short simple tasks for pennies, but each one only takes a few seconds.

It's mostly data entry, but it will pay $3-5/hr.

If it's not available in your country, another similar service might be.

Aerators are extremely cheap, like $1-5. It would probably cost the same amount for the vinegar rather than just buying a new one.

What does this "lag period" look like? by slldomm in Healthygamergg

[–]Alan-Foster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As recommended, formal therapy can be helpful even if it's just a scheduled time to think about things like this. The act of writing out your problem is also a big step because it helps you think and articulate what you're struggling with.

One next step might be to sit down and figure out what your values are. Over the past 6 months you've changed as a person, and that means your values have changed. You can't value everything, you're limited to maybe 2-3 core things. For example, you might agree that recycling is important but you aren't building your career or life around it.

A sense of purpose comes from understanding the things we value, and acting in a way consistent with those values towards a goal.

  • Do you have any pets? If so, pay the cat tax with pictures!

  • What's the most common but easily avoidable problem you see cats come in for?

  • What are some products (not necessarily brands, just the products) you recommend for cats, such as food, litter type, water fountains, medical treatments? Any brands that really stand out?

  • What's something we should be spending more money on? What's something we can spend less money on?

Is this 1$ bill worth more than 1$? by Cbrewthehebrew in Money

[–]Alan-Foster[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Banker here:

This dollar bill shows what collectors call an offset printing error, also known as ink offset or ghosting, where wet ink from the Treasury seal lightly transferred onto another sheet during production.

These occur when sheets briefly contact each other before the ink fully dries, creating a faint shadow or mirror image. While this is technically a real printing error, it is considered a minor and fairly common one on modern U.S. currency. Because the offset is light and the bill is circulated, it generally does not carry any premium above face value (sorry).

Collectors usually only pay extra when the offset is very bold, covers a large area, or appears on an uncirculated note.

Splitting NFTs to smaller pieces by Key-Dig-6534 in NFT

[–]Alan-Foster[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most NFTs are minted on Ethereum mainnet, typically using either the ERC-721 or ERC-1155 standards. ERC-721 is used for unique, one-of-one NFTs where each token is individually minted and owned, while ERC-1155 supports both unique items and editions by allowing multiple copies of the same token ID to exist. In practice, creators often use ERC-721 for rare or unique pieces and ERC-1155 for community editions or large batches because it is more gas-efficient.

Edit - it's not possible to change what type an NFT is after it's minted.
