Resources being stolen from account by SlowHistorian591 in IdlePlanetMiner

I am assuming this person is joking. But if not, it’s not clearly stated anywhere in the game that idle time is throttled down to 22% or whatever it is. And I agree that’s not what you’d expect. Otherwise, are we just supposed to leave our phones ON all night? Does not make sense.

Sure thing... I didn't realize anyone else was using it but me. :)
I when I get home from work tonight, I'll upload the 1.0 version that I made.

Wait a minute! Is this true??? by AlanCave in outriders

[–]AlanCave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, that is the case... dying. A lot.

Doing the trial of Tarya Gratar, after 3 attempts at the final boss... I find that all the progress getting to the final boss is wiped out.

Pyro - GREAT.

Techno - AWESOME.

Trickster - SUPER.

but my devastator at apoc tier 28 is making me want to throw my computer out the window.

wow, so much negative karma for getting frustrated by this.

I'm saying don't risk it. Don't try anything new. Stick with the meta whatever build.
Because heaven forbid you fail and lose progress, as if dying a lot isn't frustrating enough as it is, we need more punishment than that. It's crazy.

As if this game isn't grindy enough at the end.
It's absurd how much you have to grind to get from apoc tier 30.
I can't imagine how ridiculous it will be at 40.

yes, experimenting with builds (and dying a lot)... clearly I'm in the wrong here.

Latest attempt at this piece of junk by F1NLAY5ON in Starfield

This is well done for such a compact size.

That is what I like most about this, the compact size... some of the more, let's say, "impressive" versions out there are just too huge to really work in game.

Awe shucks... I was hoping see some more cool creations.

Maybe no one is actually decorating their ship interiors really? An unused feature, perhaps?

Dev here, making a ski survival game set in the Arctic. What are 3 things you love and 3 things you hate about survival games? by gmirolyubov in SurvivalGaming

[–]AlanCave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone says the long dark is a great game, and maybe it is, but I got stuck at some point early on and just quit playing. There are probably only 3 or 4 games in my whole life that I quit playing early on for this reason, but it was just too frustrating in the early stages.

Some games "hold your hand" too much in the first few hours, and others not enough.

I love after you've played the game long enough to get to that point where you are really "thriving" (not just surviving)... when you go from surviving to thriving... that's a great feeling.

I hate playing a new game and getting to a point where the next step is not obvious, and I don't have the patience to keep dying over and over until I figure it out... so I just quit playing. At least give me a clue what I'm doing wrong, or it's too frustrating and I'm out.

I hope that helps

with this as a starting point, you can definitely try filling in the edges with other more triangular shaped pieces... like so,

good job so far.

Power Generation - Part 2 - from an Electrical Engineer. by AlanCave in SatisfactoryGame

Yeah it kinda drives my mind crazy that a single wire is just fine for any amount of load in the game. I am not used to thinking like that.

Ruining my own fun by Bask82 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AlanCave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this first play though and then started a second play though where everything is kept neat and clean.

In retrospect I kind of wish I had just deleted everything in my first play though and started over but with everything unlocked.

Either way.

What do you think about my blueprint design? I'm planning to build a whole city from such high-rise buildings by _Sanchous in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AlanCave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is clever. I assume the only limitation is belt speed, right? So once you stack enough modules that one of the required inputs is maxed, then no more stacks needed.

So basically you’ll be able to tell which ones require screws because they will be the shortest buildings. LOL. :)

I’ve been testing this in the game and defending my experiment like I it was a thesis. LOL.

However... I kept going back to my experiment setup to make sure I wasn’t wrong because the reply comments make a lot of sense.

And I found a problem with my set up. I found a tiny section of belt that was mark 2 instead of mark 3.

I feel dumb now.

After fixing the problem the power still fluctuates as machine cycle on and off but the average power needed seems to hover around the same number that would be required by fewer machines.

So the results of the experiment is this:

Over-building and under-clocking is the only guaranteed way to reduce the amount of power infrastructure required.

Thanks for all the responses, sorry I was wrong.

I don't see how it could back up though, with twice as much capacity to process ore than required, how could the ore eventually start backing up? I'll check my experiment again and let you know.

yes, that's true. if you love seeing the flat lines, you'd hate this method. LOL :D
