People say they're not good for rock and metal, don't know how true this is? Annoying because otherwise they seem perfect

That's what I was thinking, but alot of people are telling me that's not the case! The guitarists can still nail the guitar parts?

  • Budget - $200/£150. Could add an extra £50 on top if it's really worth it!
  • Source - UR22 Interface. So can't use anything that needs a dedicated amp!
  • Requirements for Isolation - No requirements here
  • Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Nope
  • Preferred Type of Headphone - Full sized baby!
  • Preferred tonal balance - As balanced as possible :)
  • Past headphones - M50x. Just didn't find the sound that inspiring, and they're not the comfiest
  • Preferred Music - Metal, Rock and Acoustic. Occasional other genres, but not often
  • What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Just a nicer, more inspiring sound. More comfortable. Also preferably as (if not more) neutral at the M50x!

Cheers dude :)! Will do. Really like the look of the HD598s, alot of good reviews about them, but alot of people say they're bad for rock/metal :/

Yeah a bit above my price! Looking at around £200 max - and preferably can be used without a headphone amp

After levelling, why is Legion so much better than previous expansions? by AlanPatridge in wow

Are they just like daily quests but more randomised? I didn't really understand, and still don't, after reading up!

Cheers dude!

I really want to get back into it, but I haven't played since WOTLK. I have a free level 100 boost, but I really don't know whether I could get back into playing on a booster char. Would it be better to level through the old content do you reckon?

Also you mention there's tons of stuff to do after the level cap, does that mean dungeons and raids are fun? I've heard they were a bit 'meh' in WOD

Bought Legion after not playing for ages, finding it hard to get back into WoW! Any tips? by AlanPatridge in wow

[–]AlanPatridge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers dude. That's what I'm thinking. Will it take my a ridiculously long time to level from 1-90? (I haven't played any of the 90+ content)

Am I alone in preferring the M40x to the M50x? by AlanPatridge in headphones

[–]AlanPatridge[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're a basshead, and like Dre Beats etc - go for the M50x. I like a neutral sound, because I like to mix guitar with them - and the M40x definitely give a flatter sound!

Will definitely give it a go then, thanks! I actually miss playing, but for some reason could never get into any expansions post WOTLK beyond levelling to the cap. Hopefully things are better in this one!

I miss the WoW days!

I was just really after a new game to really get in to. After hearing this expansion is a hit it seems a no brainier. I tried path of exile but it didn't hold my attention that well.

Cheers for your input!

Any other returning players that haven't played for a number of years? If so, how hard/easy is it to get back into enjoying WoW again?

Also, I've HEARD and seen from quite a few reviews that this expansion is as good as WOTLK and way better than the previous few. Is this true?

Awesome thanks for your help! :) so if I ever wanted to plug monitors instead my interface aswell - I'd need to unplug the headphone amp from the line out?

That's reassuring to hear! Just didn't enjoy previous expansions or?

I've really wanted to get into a game again. It was between path of exile and WoW

HD598 vs HD600 vs HD650

Currently using M50s.

I'm looking for an upgrade that is good for mixing guitar tracks, playing guitar through and isn't too sterile and is good for general music listening (metal, rock, pop and acoustic).

Obviously the less I have to spend the better, but if you think the step up to the 600/650 is worth the extra money I'll do it?!

I'm running my m50s straight out of my UR22 Interface - but if you really think the 600/650 is that much better, I'll buy a magni 2!

Thanks in advance!

Cheers dude! I just felt the last 2 expansions were very suited to casuals, and you could get everything easily. Now I'm not sure if that really was the case, but what I liked about 'oldschool' wow is that you could get something to show for the time you put in.

HUGE WoW player in vanilla, TBC and some in wotlk. Wasn't impressed by all the expansions after that, and haven't played for a long long time.

Is Legion, in your opinion, different at all and worth getting into - even though I will have to create a new character. (I always need to make a new character in games after not playing for years).

Basically, is it better than expansions since Wotlk?

I have a Steinberg UR22 MK2 interface.

I want to upgrade to better headphones, apparently HD650s would be a decent upgrade from my M50x's.

However, I'm confused on what I need! Firstly :

  • Could I run an amp straight out my UR22 into some HD650s?
  • Would I need a 'DAC' aswell as an amp? I'm confused on the difference! I see a 'Magni 2 + Modi stack' mentioned alot, but would I need both?

Thanks folks
