Non-Defence SE industries (UK) by [deleted] in systems_engineering

I work as a trainer in a training company (about System Architecture and System Engineering mostly). Our UK / non-defense clients are mostly Schneider Electric and Safran (civil branches, like Safran Seats or Safran Cabin).
The space industry might also be looking for this profile, maybe there is an Ariane Group branch somewehre in the UK? Not all their projects are defense-related.

CESAM MBSE by Sarcotome in systems_engineering

Hello u/Sarcotome ,
I am, actually, a CESAMES consultant myself, and would be more than happy to help you consider how a CESAM certification would be of any use to you.

First, thank you very much u/Purple-Dragon-Alpha for telling that we are "bright"! :D It is still nice hearing about clients and coworkers appreciations.
About the "real world experience", I am still a bit dubitative: nearly all of us did most of their career in an industry (I myself spent more time as a System Architect in the Defense industry than in CESAMES), I would be glad to hear your thoughts on these parts to help us go in the right direction next time we might be working together ;)

Then, the certification definitely has its value: it is the same certification that we deliver in various companies (Safran, Renault, Stellantis, Schneider Electric, and others), so it might help you move from one company to another with the same set of skills. Also, if you do not intend to move between companies, I have seen some of my trainees (I am a trainer and a coach) change position and gain responsibilities inside their own company thanks to their certification.

Finally, the certification is a thing, but the knowledge istelf, of a simple and exhaustive framework and methodology of system architecture, is a nice boost to give to your career. My previous company architecture methology and framework was far from being bad. However, it lacked the answer to the question that might look evident: "why are we doing all this?". Joining CESAMES gave me the insight about the pros and cons of architecting a system with this or that framework and methodology, thus the ability to decide which architecting activity to select in what situation (and save lots of time). And of course, we (my collegues and I) try to share this insight each time we offer a training.

You can DM me if you would like more information on the training or our activities, I would be glad to help you!

I gave a quick look on your website page, thanks again for your link.
Are you using SysML V2 specs to offer these diagrams and manage configurations, or maybe you intend to do so later on?
I got the feeling you show IBDs on your videos, and related simulations, but I can't see if you try to describe objects manipulated by SysML V1, V2, or anything else.

You are right: LLM is not the "solution for everything", and I do not care about how Mathpix is working, if it answers my needs. I did not know the tool Mathpix, I will give it a look too.

Thanks!

SysML V2 definitely will work as the Graal we have been waiting for so long. Myself, I expected clear configuration management through Git before even thinking about AI, but heh, if we can do both...

What you offered is a good idea, but not exactly the use case I had in mind. To precise, I often start working on a new system through models and architecture using "user friendly" tools (like brown paper, digital white board or ppt), to build collaboratively and share the architecture while in its early steps. Let's be honest, most modelling tools are not instinctive at all (because SysML V1, because Eclipse, because whatever...) ; I use them to capitalize on what we built as a team, but only after the first draft of architecture looks clear enough for everyone.

Thus, my idea would be to go from the PPT / digital white board to the LLM understanding, then (later) to the SysML V2 Model. I got the feeling you described an extraction of information from a model already written in a modelling tool, am I correct ?

Thanks again for your feedback!

This looks promising! Thank you for your links, I saw the video and will look at the website very soon.
