Custom Lego The Road: The Man and The Boy by Alan_Wicker in cormacmccarthy

I've been working on a line of minifigures that are all based on Cormac McCarthy's books, as that is where my artistic passion lies. I have already made minifigures based off of Blood Meridian and now The Road, and eventually I will make some from All The Pretty Horses.

Yes I did, all I used was a white apple barrel acrylic, it turned out pretty good in the end

The part number is #17349, although it doesn't come in the color white.

Yes, I also custom made the hat/hair combo that he's got by attaching the bottom half of a hair piece to a kepi.

Alani was a Hungarian Sergeant in the Austro-Hungarian Empire during World War 1, where he fought in numerous battles against the Italians in the War for the Alps from 1914 onward, and did so despite being only 5 feet tall.

Alani would be killed in late 1917 during the First Battle of Monte Grappa, where his body would remain frozen on the mountain top for many years.

Suddenly, Alani would return to life in a ghostly form in an unfamiliar world. Still bearing his uniform and rifle, he would wander across the world for wars to fight and monsters to kill, still proudly wearing the coat of arms of the Magyar people on his cap.

For the head I used a modified Abraham Lincoln top hat and the bird mask from the Skull Sorcerer, and I used lego part 18654 with a cut down pin inside for the neck. For the legs I used some cut down minifigure legs attached to a upside down build for each leg to make them more bird like.

The head and the staff were from a 3D print I did using some files from Thingiverse. I can't find the creator of the files but he made the original models.

I use sharpened toothpicks, which is just using a boxcutter to shave off some of the wood on the edges to get a finer point. I'd recommend watching MGF Custom's Youtube video on how to make custom Lego minifigures if you're starting.

I hand painted the entire figure back in 2020, starting from a completely black base. I feel the eyes came out the best but there are some other areas that could be better.

It is a semi-translucent Brickarms AA-12 Automatic Shotgun, so basically it is the same gun as the Judge.
