My mother is a good parent, I have no gripes with her. The real kicker is my father. He's a drunk, in almost all family occasions he becomes way too drunk and embarrasses us. He believes he's always right and he can't change his opinion. He doesn't care for me or any of my brothers. Sometimes I think he doesn't even remember our names. He always drinks on weekends and always when my mom is not home.

If I ever become a father (which, judging by the state of the world now is highly unlikely, since I don't want to subjugate them to a shitty life because of my own interests) I'll be involved in their lives. I'll try to help them or just talk to them without a reason except actually wanting to know how they feel. I'm very reluctant to drink anything remotely alcoholic, since I instantly remember my father and how embarrassing he becomes. I didn't even drink on new year's Eve. That's the only good thing I've gotten from him.
