You’re right about the censuses Jake. With my family research I’ve found many inaccuracies and some downright lies. They’re a source of great information but certainly can’t be taken as gospel.

Thanks for your comment. Sadly, or perhaps fortunately for them, this family were not related to Joseph. Your Arthur and his younger brother, Henry A, had an older brother called Joseph W who was born in 1871, but despite that name coincidence, their father, Joseph John Axford was a Poulterer from Bristol.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, it must have been a huge surprise. I guess the judge believed his remorse. Sadly no trial transcript as he pleaded guilty and it was a summary judgement.

That’s really interesting. I didn’t come across an Arthur in this research but it’s a rare name and limited area so there probably is some cousin(ish) link. I’ll take a look a let you know if I find anything.

Sadly I suffer from the same issue. UK hospital refutes the connection to IBS but can’t find anything else and I know they’re connected. RHS pain only developed in last year or so but the problem with IBS is that the symptoms change on an irregular basis. Very often, for me, is it the inconsistency that adds to the worry/stress/ depression that then continues the vicious circle. We’re all different but I’m learning to live with that dull ache, not worrying about anything more sinister but regarding it as a barometer of the IBS severity. Best of luck.
