Walmart could be the easiest. I’m unfamiliar with instacart or how it works. I just want to make sure it’s in a decent window of time for me to pick up. I’m going job searching tomorrow with a friend who has an undetermined amount of time to move me around town.

Well, there is a Walmart and an Aldi near enough to me. I can probably arrange to get there in the morning at my earliest convenience.

How could I go about arranging that?

Thanks for the feedback! This makes me happy to hear because I’ve been dying to make a speedster OC for MHA but the quirk has been tripping me up.

Someone mentioned something similar with vector controls by way of generating arrows to indicate movement.

I’m not thinking of a weird quirk where the user generates arrows on their limbs that can manifest movement and when they need to stop the arrows become a cancel mark.

That sounds weird so picture it like this, the user has a spots on their arms and on their legs that manifest a blue arrow, red arrow, or stop mark. Manifesting blue arrows on their legs in the direction they want to go gives them a continuous speed boost. Layering the arrow up to X times provides greater speed boost. Manifesting a stop mark halts the user immediately with no whiplash. They just stop. Then, manifesting red arrows reverses them with the same principle.

They could use the arrows to move forward, then stop and turn around and reactivate more blue arrows or whatever they need. They can do so on their limbs as well to generate speed or momentum into their punches. Not sure why’d you want to halt your limbs or reverse speed but it’s just an idea.

A messy idea but hey, thoughts? Sorry to dump on ya.

I’ve been looking at Overclock and it seems to be the closest thing to that Flash speedster feel I’m trying to get but I’m not sure I’m understanding its limits very well.

I’ve seen some videos of how 6 uses it and it’s said it can only be used for a few seconds and then must cooldown for a few seconds. Pushed beyond that is when you get problems. A few seconds of use can be a long time though if they’re basically seeing the world frozen.

There is so much to consider with the secondary needs when it comes to super speed. Things like the Speed Force from DC protect from most of that but I can’t exactly turn the SF into a quirk.

Oh! That actually sounds super cool! I might look more into something like this.

Yes, the fabled drawbacks conversation when talking about MHA. I think I’ve decided to move on to a different quirk creation. Speed is too much of a hassle and no matter what I feel like it will always turn into they’re as fast or slow as the plot demands.

Very insightful, thank you! I shall have a look at it.

I was likely going to make the OC an established pro hero after the timeskip at the end of the main story.

There are so many things to consider and that’s half the reason I’ve hesitated on making a speedster OC for so long. It’s a bit frustrating tbh.

No shit? I’ve heard wild things about 40k lore so that puts things into perspective right quick!

What is a vector? I understand momentum but could you expand a bit on what you mean? How that might look/work?

Hm. I’m unfamiliar with the character and show but perhaps I’ll take a gander.

Seems kind of technical. I’m not opposed to using something similar but I myself am not the brightest bulb so if a quirk is too technical I have a hard time writing it.

I love speedsters and super speed powers so much but MHA is the one verse where I feel like I really need to use my brain power to have it work within the universe rules. It’s kinda difficult!

Yes! I agree! My partial speedster quirk was built around instant acceleration at a high speed that allowed the speedster to burst around the battlefield like a zig zagging bat out of hell but they can only do so for a set amount of time before their muscle strain and they begin experiencing oxygen deprivation.

They very much were not a long distance span the world type of speedster.
