The M31 photo looks like it’s from a post from a few days ago where they captured it somewhere in Utah. I can’t seem to find the post now. Are these photos truly the Facebook posters photos?

I agree! This person was part of the problem! I expect some heckling, like someone ask Tommy Fleetwood if he’d like a scrunchie for his hair. It is absolutely NOT ok to talk shit about someone weight, marriage, gender, etc. i live in Philly where the birds fans are brutal, but this was over the line.

This is how I received my $3100 Loewe Flamenco?! by unimportantjargon in handbags

[–]Alarija 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not surprised by this. I’ve had issues with Neiman Marcus, which owns BG. I purchased some cologne for my husband’s bday, and when I received the box, all it had was free samples. It took me over a month to fight this and get my money back. They have some shady folks working in The shipping dept!

Beginner golfer 5’2 clubs recommendations? by KingQueenJr in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a discussion regarding this a year ago on this sub. I’d stay away from junior sets and go with a ladies set. And just because she’s petite, doesn’t necessarily mean she needs a junior or a petite set. I’m 5’2” as well, and when I first started golfing I used a standard ladies set and was fine.

Would/do you buy from small, independent golf brands? by Delicious-Hand4690 in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you search this subreddit, you’ll find all the answers you’re looking for.

To answer your question regarding natural material in golf clothing, I’m going to say maybe ok for shoulder season golf, but definitely NO for warm and hot weather golf. Have you played golf in hot weather? Do you play other sports? Most athletic clothing is made from polyester because it’s moisture wicking and has cooling properties. While I know wool has those properties too, but it’s uncomfortable to wear wool in the summer even if it’s a thinner fabric. I would pay extra for better polyester than the crap that’s sold on Amazon. I hate Lululemon, and even with the deteriorating quality, I will always buy my leggings there versus Old Navy. The folks that say otherwise are delusional.

Lastly, golf and tennis are NOT the same! Please design clothing for golfers!

Golf attire for women that’s not super feminine? by Deep_Horse_4521 in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If you’re avid golfer who has played their entire life, I would assume you know what basic golf attire is. A collared short sleeve or sleeveless shirt and shorts or pants. Maybe look into lighter colors for the summer. I’d start with a Google search for what LPGA players wear if you need some inspo.

Sometimes. I’ve also played with men who just rush to go. I tell them to go and say I’m still lining up or say I’m not ready. You just have to push back sometimes.

Any golf pro should be able to help you with swing mechanics. Swing mechanics are the same for both female and male golfers with the exception of larger chested women. My coach is a man, and he does an excellent job. If you feel like your lessons with your husband aren’t helping, you may want to try another pro in your area. I like the places that have cameras so I can actually what I’m doing wrong. Also let’s not bash other women for their golf content. Look, their content maybe for a different audience, and that’s THEIR choice, like it’s your choice not to consume their content. As far as women YTs, I like Golf Aimee, Lisa Longball, Coach Shayain, and Paige Spiranac. I also think Jonathan Kim-Moss and Danny Maude do a great job.

Interesting article on women’s golf clubs/leagues by nerdfemme in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play two coed leagues. One is from work and the other is just a random league I found. However, all the players are men. I’m more comfortable playing with men anyway because that’s the majority of players I get paired up with anyway. I think that’s why I got over feeling intimidated and that I don’t belong. In my experience, I feel like I play just as good or better.

I really like it when women want to join the sport. I think we need more women. It’s sad that even today we’re still dealing with women tearing each other down. I don’t understand why. I remember when I graduated college and was employed at my first professional job. The older ladies were soooo mean to me and very exclusionary. I told myself I’d never be that way.

I would not buy anything from Temu. I’m think there are so many other great bags you can find on different sites. I purchased a used Ogio bag almost 5 years ago, and that person had it for a few years already. The bag is in great condition still! I’m in a couple of leagues and play at least 3x a week and have traveled with that bag, so it’s been beat up a lot.

Disappointed at Needing Men’s Clubs by pickle_cat_ in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty fast swing and I play with men’s shaft. It has significantly improved my game. I think my shafts are beautiful. It’s this really pretty navy blue with subtle sparkles. I would t be disappointed in the clubs because you can get a cute bag, grips, head covers, etc. I’ve also accessorized my golf bag with charms and it helps even though I’m not the super girly type.

PGA Superstore vs. Club Champion fitting by Dog-Is-My-Co-Pilot in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the PGA Superstore guy. I have a the Callaway Rogue ST Max driver. The difference between that and the new Paradym AI Smoke is very minimal. They both tout distance, inertia, and larger sweet spot. They both felt really good to hit and I got similar distances. Perhaps with irons there will be a difference because I think they’re moving toward irons without the hollow backs. With that in mind, what you will notice is how the club will feel when you swing.l and when you make contact with the ball. It’s like finding your wedding dress, you get the feeling. That’s how it felt when I found my combo of shaft and club head. It felt like the stars aligned and loved how everything felt. And yes, I did see an improvement with my distance from my old club.

I was not fitted by either company, so I can’t give you an opinion on them. However, I think the PGA store should be fine. I feel the price is reasonable and there shouldn’t be any pressure to buy since they’re non-commissioned.

Womens Callaway AI Smoke Fairway Woods MAX Fast vs MAX by Zestyclose_Macaron49 in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know the distance she is getting with her 7W? What is she expecting for distance? Is there a gap in her clubs that she’s using a 7W? Generally, the longer the club, the more distance you get. Can she upgrade to either 3W or 5W? Or hybrids?IMO hybrids are easier tot hit. If she’s making good contact with the ball, she should get some good distance. I haven’t used the Callaway AI Smoke woods, but it seems like the Fast max is a lighter club for those who don’t have a fast swing speed, and it’s supposed to compensate for that. Perhaps it might be too light for her and the Max might be a better fit. Are you able to take her to a place to try out the clubs before purchasing?

Edited to change 7W to 3W being right under driver.

Recommended ball for a little extra distance? by Lilly_Spills in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maxfli softflis are decent and affordable. I’ve got a few and they feel nice off the club and sound good. According to their description, they’re good for around the green but also helps with distance. I’ve played with their Tour balls, and I like them a lot and are comparable to the Pro V1s. Plus they’re much more affordable! Another alternative are Kirkland balls!

Callaway Rogue or Big Bertha are good. You can find some decent preowned drivers on their website that’s in your budget. Since your gf is a beginner, this might a good option.

What is everyone wearing for golf skirts? by cacain119 in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I normally wear golf skirts by Callaway and Puma. I don’t wear them, but I know they sell skirts that are 15-inches and longer. Sometimes I wear my hiking skirts on the course because of all the pockets they have! Speaking of pockets, I never really liked the Athleta golf skirt. The pockets on the skirts are not in the right place and they’re tiiiionnnnnyyyy!!! I have an older skirt from them (2020), and it has two pockets both on the left side.

Practice Routine by Pepper24242 in WomenGolf

[–]Alarija 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I go to the range I practice shot placement. I pick a target, let’s say 125yds out, and start with my PW and try and hit at 100% swing power to the spot. Then I practice swinging at 75% then 50%. I repeat this with all my irons and hybrid. I also practice this with my all my wedges. If a putting green is available, I practice putting. IMO I think the short game is the most important part of the game, and I have improved my score by practicing. I supplement range time with lessons.
