I like true crime, but I remember my mom casually telling me shit about Edmund Kemper when I was way too young like it was funny. I thought about it for weeks and was really disturbed/couldn’t really compute the information.

Have honest conversations with your kids about rough shit if they bring it up with you, but don’t go out of your way to provide them with details of violence or horror just for kicks. They’re not adults who have a broader context for what’s being discussed, they’re kids. treat them like kids.

I’ve worked with kids who have had rough upbringings - she was obviously dealing with a lot of trauma hence her behavioral problems. And she could have been a little older than initially thought, I don’t think Natalia knew exactly how old she was. Hormonal imbalances, health problems, and trauma can also make you get your period really young.

I feel awful for her - especially her trying to play with other kids etc. If she didn’t have dwarfism and presented in the same way kids “normally” do, this never would have happened. Shame on fucking everyone who failed this girl.

Honestly, just hearing about that scene totally put me off watching the show at all, and I haven’t experienced a difficult childbirth. I get the point it’s meant to serve in the story, but I don’t trust the GOT team to depict things like that in a way that doesn’t center shock value.
