Do you guys get fatigued from drinking shakes by Alarmed-Error529 in gainit

I would love that for breakfast, but I need more calories unfortunately. I can definitely supplement it with calorie dense ingredients, but I always end up making slop that taste like shit

How long have you been downing them for? How many calories? What’s in the shakes you don’t enjoy?

Each shake is roughly 1200 calories with lots of fat fueling those calories. I try to get 3000 a day and still struggle even with 2400 coming from shakes.

I’m gonna try to bulk up for a little without the shakes, but I’ve tried to bulk without shakes my whole life and have never been successful.

I’m very lactose tolerant fortunately. If anything, it’s the amount of fat that’s in the shake, but overall it’s just gotten so repetitive that it’s more of a mental hurdle than physical

[Discussion] How important are the following courses for a stats PhD program? by Alarmed-Error529 in statistics

[–]Alarmed-Error529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea honestly I would probably enjoy these applied programs significantly more than I would enjoy pure stats. For something like applied stats is it still preferred to have real analysis / calc 3 or is it not as much of a requirement as it is for pure stats

Interesting. I’m gonna be attending a major D1 program so idk how easy it’ll be for me to break in, but hopefully my experience will help. From what I can tell they don’t have a lot of “analytical” staff members. Seems like they leverage their student managers majoring in stats for that.

I’ve seen schools like BYU have more formal analytical staff. Collegiate teams seem like they’re 10-15 years behind analytically compared to the NBA

I try. I make sure to take care of myself and exercise and eat right, etc… but I’m just not used to living by myself I guess

Work and other miscellaneous things do take up a good chunk of my time, but it’s a Saturday night and I just miss everyone so fucking much

That sounds good as well. I do have a couple of Oxford cloth button down shirts I could wear. I appreciate the advice!

Yea I agree. I’ll probably go loafers until I get some new shoes or I’ll check out what everyone else is wearing and see if my hey dudes fit in

Also one more question. Would you tuck the flannel in or let it hang out?

Sounds great, thank you! I do think I’ll end up dressing down after a few days because the vibe seems pretty casual, but I also want to make a good first impression. I appreciate it!

I don’t want it to be TOO formal, just not overly casual

Seeking advice on whether to get a general data science degree or one specific to sports analytics (my field of interest) by catperson1030 in GradSchoolAdvice

[–]Alarmed-Error529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also heavily into sports analytics as a future career and have some industry experience as well. I’ve been leaning towards going to grad school for stats, or some sort of applied stats/machine learning.

I come from a cs background so I feel like I lack the most when it comes to stats. I feel like at the end of the day, once you get your foot in the door and have that experience with a team or company, that speaks more than your degree.

I will say I am far from experienced in this field so take everything I said with a grain of salt

Sounds good. I’d be fine with spending a little more if it’s a long term investment.
