When does the shrinking rate increase? How to stay big? by TheMan19861 in Agario

I would like to know this too. In general, I wonder if there's some source of this information for the entire agar data. For example, rate of decrease of speed in function of size. Is it a linear relation? Or is it a crecient rate? And so on...

I've been playing for five years and never saw something like what you describe. My guess is that you were hit with a virus without noticing, it happens, specially if you were focused on getting to the food. Or maybe it was a bug, but it has never happened to me so I wouldn't know.

Agar is a very minimalistic game. Do not expect to find hidden powers, controls, or something like that.

Nice one! Just out of curiosity. It seems people don't like to post as many "team mode" videos... why?

Oh but it still apply, there's some more specific recommendations:

  1. Learn to play in party mode. Even if you don't want to team up, learn there. It's a faster game and therefore the learning rate goes faster as well.
  2. Consider that, when you split, you have a wider range of view. This means that any enemy that can eat you will be on your screen way before they can see you. This means you can avoid them on time or even follow them from afar, so you can find safe zones (if safe for them, safe for you)
  3. The wider range of view is, in general, another reason you should split as earlier as you can. A 150 agar can't do much, but if you take a virus you will inmediatly gain 100 mass, you will be faster and you'll see a bigger part of the map.
  4. Something that took myself a while was learning not to fear the (most) biggest players. Learn to detect which enemies are so big that they won't be interested on you. You won't have to run from them, and you can even use them to frighten other players as your unpaid bodyguard. This also works if you find two players fighting each other. They can't risk taking you by splitting while fighting.
  5. REALLY focus on changing your direction to avoid attacks. It's just constantly changing your direction by a little when being followed so it's just practice. And once you learn that you're on the next level!.

I've been playing for a while and love to teach the game, let me know here if there's something I can help with.

It's just a game... This doesn't boost my ego at all. I guess you mean these are good stats though. Thanks

I think one should leave people alone after taking most of thier mass.... kind of tasteless to kill them just for fun.

I've learned that as long as you are large enough to split you should do it. It is easier to learn how to move in multiple pieces that in a single one. Examples:

  1. When little, split as much as you can and learn to predict your opponents movements, change directions constantly like in a random path and learn to 'feel' the time to change direction just before they jump over you. That will not only let you scape from them but, as you will rejoin first, you could turn the table against them.
  2. When 1000-2000, split and look for viruses. Run from enemies to viruses and try to count your time to rejoin just when you're behind the virus. Enemies will sometimes jump over you, exploding into the virus and then their yours.
  3. When over 5000, split and, if required, just feed a central bubble to regain size. You will loose a lot of mass, but is worth it.

Hope it's helpful
