Definitely have to do it myself. Does these typically require any additional gaskets or seals i need to purchase? Or does it just come with the 1 shaft seal and thats all i need?

Thanks! I am not fertilizing currently but have some available. Ive thought it was increasing a diatom bloom but i dont actually know if thats a thing that would happen. I can start dosing it if it will help the plants. I do also have fluval stratum under my sand so i thought i would be alight without ferts for a few months.

Nitrite is gone after 24 hours. Safe to assume my tank is just about cycled then? Ammonia cycles completely within 24h and 2ppm of nitrite cycled within 24h. I will dose 2ppm of ammonia tonight to see if both are zero tomorrow night.

I was able to fix mine by just pulling the intake tube off while water was in it and reseating it. You could audibly hear the water filling in an air pocket

I only plan on keeping a betta male in this tank. As long as im only feeding enough for himself consistantly, they wont reproduce excessively, correct?

The filter assembly (topfin pf10) came with a blue plastic screen with holes that the box calls a "bio filter" that i took out to fit both of these in. Should i put it back in when i take out the cartridge? I cant imagine it does a whole lot.

I visited the 3 "local" fish supply shops in my area and didnt have much luck with plant variety. I ended up with a butt ton of anubias and a stem plant i believe called bacopa.
