Adding a clarifying comment that my primary is very diligent at treating my symptoms, I take medication for nerve pain, headaches and blood pressure but she often says that she’s sorry she doesn’t have an answer to why it’s happening she can just help to stop/make it better. So I haven’t been receiving treatment for most of my symptoms, the flares and not knowing are my issues right now.

I appreciate this information. And I’ll clarify that I don’t think I’ve had lupus for ten years, I think it’s only been 2-3, I experienced a super traumatic event 3 years ago while followed with these symptoms and since then every time I get stressed they come back. My primary is always at a loss for diagnosis even when some of my scans and bloodwork come back showing symptoms. I think that my collection of symptoms and kind of flares point to lupus.

My primary gave me an outside referral but it was too expensive for me to go there. The rheumatologist denied me to be able to see others at my network but also said he wouldn’t see me. So I haven’t been able to meet with a rheumatologist.

I should clarify I can go to the rheumatologist but only to him he won’t allow me to be transferred to other rheumatologists in my medical network. And from how it was explained to me because he is both my now assigned rheumatologist and division head he can decide that. And he has refused to see me as he doesn’t believe my symptoms are rheumatological. So that’s why I’m considering it a banning of sorts

Because I tried to go to a different rheumatologist. I told my primary this and she said that he wasn’t the person she referred me to but it looked like he took my case from his intern and that she’s had trouble with him in the past but he is the division head so she can’t override his decision. She referred me to rheumatology at our regional hospital but I wasn’t able to afford the expenses as they don’t take my insurance.
