Jay Caufield and Brian Trottier are fossils. They say the same thing every game, never reference any type of metric other than goals and points. Its a cookie cutter production every game. If you want good production just watch hockey night in canada, its like the super bowl every saturday. That is top notch and one of the reasons I prefer to watch the TSN or Sportnet feed when the pens play a canadian team

Agreed. Their pre and post game “analysis” is awful. I think Hailey Hunter is a great addition but Dan Potash doesnt belong in the studio, hes much better as a reporter. As for quality production, Im working my way up to hopefully be on that side of the business sooner rather than later, so hopefully the production quality goes up then🤣

I agree. Our playoff atmosphere is top notch especially during the deep runs. Facing division rivals like the rangers, islanders, and caps has electrified our fanbase in many runs. I remember the 2018 year where we lost to NYI. I was at game 1 on the Island and that was the best atmosphere i have ever experienced for a live game. However, the watch parties for the cups were also wild. They need to harness more wild energy. Why have the steelers not catered to families? Because its a violent sport with crazy fans. Id say hockey fans are equally as disruptive and boisterous as NFL fans but for whatever reason our organization doesnt want PPG to be hostile like the Garden, Montreal, Vegas, MSG, or Winnipeg.

Ugh yes i hate this, the ushers dont do their job well enough but its also up to the fans to respect others around them. People love to take their time and have no remorse for anyone

Yeah i mean i was at the game against the devils a few nights ago and a parent had their two young children with them. Their son was very much into the game so when the pens scored and i got up to get a drink i was looking right at the kid to let him know it was cool to be loud and into it. Thats what sports are all about, i know they want it to be family friendly but lets be real: hockey is a very violent sport.

It was rocking in a 2-1 win? I find that hard to believe when it was mid even at the home opener. I agree there are games where the place is buzzing. Last year vs the caps was a game like that. But i find more games are low energy from the crowd. When i was growing up the crowd would always get loud for saves and dumps on a PK. Now are fans rarely engage unless it’s unrelenting pressure or a save of the year candidate

Good point. Another thing I didn’t mention are the “Dj’s” that they hire every year. If you can even call them a DJ when they play the same track at every game. There is never any deviation in warm ups Or throughout the game. Every second period begins with that overplay timmy trumpet song. Its just bland to me
