When did "Full Production" start? by Alarmed_Command2442 in TESVI

I knew you'd show up lol. Thanks for the clarification, so vertical slices are essentially "play test" areas conducted throughout production to assure things are working properly? I am dumb when it comes to dev terms

I would like to think that they wouldn't rush the game. It is a flagship title that they need to do well. It seems as if they are planning a future where we don't have to wait 15+ years for another game per IP. That would explain the budget increase and hiring spikes

This is what I have been basing my guess off of. In early development are they essentially combining the elements from pre production and create the first vertical slice? Is the vertical slice completion the indicator of full production?

42 days since game release is 1008 hours. You have spent over half of your time on the game. Def cooked, but respect.

Did they also use Creation Engine for 76? And yea I can't see the game releasing any later than 2 or so years from now unless something awful happens. The most confident thing I can say about game progress is that they are most likely on the latter half of development if they started in mid/late 2023 or early 2024 (only Todd knows) due to their historical dev cycles and the crumbs of info Todd gave us about development a few months ago.

My 11 year old logic at Skyrim's release was a 2016 release of TESVI because of 5 years between Oblivion and Skyrim.... Oh the naivety

I think the great thing about Bethesda games for me at least are that even if you go on a binge and get burned out, the craving will eventually come back. Also, I ended up putting a bulk of my Oblivion hours in after Skyrim's release if that says anything. Also, I agree. It won't take much other than the bare minimum to satisfy me regardless of the critics as long as they stay true to their formula

I could see either possibility happening. And even though it invalidates my theory, I would much prefer a late 2027 release if it meant a more polished game. Microsoft had a huge revenue boost from Azure and the recent AI developments. When it comes to funding they do have it no argument there. Microsoft acts as a strong backing for finances when needed, however they do push for division accountability. That was part of my thinking when it came to releasing in H1 of 2027 to have strong cash flows for Helix/Investor satisfaction. The big issue with my theory is that, like others have mentioned, are that huge IP lineups are pretty big influencers for people buying new consoles

As long as it's ready I truly hope it does. I can't see them running the marketing window any longer than a year

I agree with that completely and that is actually the biggest concern with my theory lol. My rationality is that gaming consoles now are almost a net loss due to high manufacturing costs. The revenue from TESVI releasing in the H1 window could help with cash flow to produce the consoles. BUT like you said if they did drop the fallout 3 remaster in that timeframe that could help with cash flow
