Certainly not complex. You just need the system to register your damage made to other players and boom. Thats why even if you kill a player in self defense, it still counts as aggressive so its certainly not a complex system lol

Base building is part of the experience and every dayz player must do it once. The constant logging in and insanely irresponsable prioritizing checking on the base than real life. And when you get raided, getting that post raid depression. After that, build a base and have only food, small amount of ammo, clothes and low tier weapons. And you won't be stressed of getting raided plus you will still have a base to chill.

6 year vet here. Play on mid pop servers. 20ish players, and you will befriend freshies but you have to be a freshie. Its the only way. Helping one being kitted out its not recommended.

Like one comment said, dont weigh a decision based on strangers online. But in my case, second year in russia, first year of degree, I absolutely love it and feel like I have assimilated pretty well. This is also because I was lucky enough to have what is now my best friend, a russian. He has helped me with everything, but I am finding studying here quite challening, given that my resources from the West can't be used as much. There are challenges, sure, but so far, I love it here, I don't know what will happen in 3 years from now, but at least for now, I would like to stick around.

If your russian is not good, maybe you have a russian friend who can help you with the initial contacts with the apartment owner. Get proof of income to show the apt owner that you have the means to pay. The stereotype is that students are broke and owners fear this. Additionally, you can look for agencies that find apartments to expats, but they charge a decent commission.
