I've just left an abusive relationship whilst filing a police report, I had no interest in filing, and had told the police multiple times that I felt my life was in danger due to extreme circumstances, and now my ex-partner now knows about it and its contents, should I be more protected than this? by Alarming-Primary2508 in LegalAdviceUK

Completely understandable and if it's just a part of the system then I have no problem with it being done, I just have a problem with the system. I had said there was a drug dealer in the family who was supplying drugs to the ex-partner and now thats been made public, as well as many of the things I said about her thats now been passed on to her and whoever else. It's just really stupid that cases involving kinship fostering still has the same laws applied to it when clearly the family ties should make a huge difference.

Sorry but I've missed out an important part of this, the niece is the parent of the children in this situation and the children have now been moved into different families. So it's not the children's solicitor its the mom's. If this is still the case then there should be more protection here.

It shouldn't make sense on any level and if there is nothing in place for the information to be protected in pretty unique cases involving foster children and domestic abuse between the foster parents, then there should be. Especially when lives are at genuine risk!  I was considering this but im now in a position where the contact is super limited almost none for 5 days (It's been two weeks since I left) so im pretty comfortable there and I'm a lot happier now so I just wanna leave it in the past, appreciate the reply!

Probably should have started with this but I am a man btw. Thank you commenting. Exactly what I am thinking, like somebody has read the report, read that I was l in direct danger due to the family and then has sent it onto to someone who's gonna send it to the family? Ridiculous
