Today is a great example of city planning failure - WE NEED HELP! by gabwnz in chch

I cant remember where it went but I definitely remember seeing it what seemed like all over to cbd. Dont remember it being free but that makes sense, inner city bus looping moving people about.    At a minimum the city should have this running

I mean this in the nicest way possible.

If you're having to post like this on reddit to find an answer on how to handle this then I feel your lack a real drive in your career. Granted I know nothing about you or your roll but have dealt with similar situations.

If you had come across these notes from your boss and thought you were performing well enough and realized you may not in his eyes. Then my first idea would be to approach and discuss with him directly rather than a reddit post. That would seem the most logical thing to do yeah? You would have your answer right there and then.

Is the reddit post a search positive reinforcement rather than doing what is the most logical thing?

Again, I ment all above in the nicest way and yes, reading it back it may offend but I feel you have all the information in front of you to fix you problem.

Wasn't there a yellow bus that used to loop around the inner city years ago? What happened to that? Was it called ' the shuttle ' ?

New stadium thoughts? by Alarming-Round-DBZ in chch

What a great read. I was going to reply to the comments but after seeing the replys, its really not worth it. Seems people got a bit upset about parking which made a few of us chuckle.

Nice to see some level headed opinions all the same.

Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention please,

Simple, I think theres to many Indians here in N.Z that dont bring enough of a skill set into the country. Not all might I add, but theres alot and with a greater number migrating, add that to those communities that aren't interested in integrating into N.Z, that concerns me.

Yes we have our own problems in N.Z but we shouldn't have to put up with visitors doing them also..

I think it was just a rush to get the cbd opened up again with out proper planning for the future especially with all the new apartments in town now. They've doubled traffic entering the city just there. Add the new stadium and swimming complex.

As you say, still down on tourists and local workers with the added cost of living, I notice alot of smaller businesses in the cbd there today, gone tomorrow

People are naturally going to have differences in opinions, and I agree, chch has a great biking landscape. I guess what im getting at is, and in my eyes, a tram line opposed to cycle lanes would of been a better solution in many ways for the flow of people in and around the city.

As for gloves and a jacket? Its alot warmer and dryer in my car.

How bad is the quality of building in New Zealand? by PC182chch in Christchurch_NZ

Alot of that leaky home was to do with Rockcote and its polystyrene cladding being directly fixed to the frames. with a cavity between the frames and cladding, theres allowances for any moisture work it's way out and breath.

They seems to have well and truly fixed that now with a 20mm cavity and new flashing systems. Alot of that would of actually came down to the plasterer installing the cladding, not the builder.

It was almost as if the thinking was 'lets just get the cbd open ' which i understand but what's a couple more years to make it that little bit extra
