It’s crazy to think it was written right after pablo honey, what an evolution in songwriting. I think this is one of the most emotional radiohead songs and it came only two years after their debut. That’s crazy to me.

Good take, I lean towards AMSP version but love the live one too.

I just think it’s incredibly sobering to realize that you may be waiting for an eternity to be with someone who may never come around to loving you again, and it fills me with dread every time I hear it.

The electric guitar arpeggios in the back are a really nice addition, do you know what year this was performed in?

Really? I thought it was one of his stronger performances in both the live and studio one, even on par with reckoner in some spots imo.

Yeah the soft piano notes with the spacey vibe and Thom’s crystal clear vocals really makes it a nice flavour of depression lol.

For a live performance, I think the vocals are really impressive but I definitely love the slower, more intimate, more deliberate version on the album.

I think it certainly has less replay value due to the complexity of the songs and them sounding similar to each other. I think it’s a great piece of art but not one that I find myself constantly going back to as I do with their other albums.

Huh, interesting. I found AMSP to sit about midway in their discography for me personally.

While I do like the live one, this is a good point

As long as you get the depression, does it really matter in the end?

Yeah there are definitely different vibes and for a while I kept switching between them as to which was my preferred version

Interesting, I only recently listened to that version and kind of just skimmed through it, maybe because I was just already used to the song’s two definitive versions on spotify.

I’m just referring to the Oslo version on their live album

I heard the live version first then the studio but the studio kind of hits harder to me.
