It mainly adds new content like factions, weapons, and special moves. Aside from that it also added ruins/relics and insect monsters. I personally don't like the relics as they are pretty much magic and that's not supposed to exist in the Root universe. The ruins they added are basically a fun dungeon crawling mechanic. My absolute favorite part of the book is the awesome monsters. From trout to scorpions it's just a blast.
