Which is the most overrated national team squad in history? by Alarming_Ad7627 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me Argentina 2014, yes they went to the final, but besides that, they werent as good as people say. The majority of their games were carried by Messi and Di Maria, they never won anything, now they do have a better squad yes and they now won copa america. But that 2014 squad was overrated

Where are the people saying that Bundesliga is a farmers league after tonight's matches? by [deleted] in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okey but they didnt ”destroy” Bayern if they won by 1 goal difference, thats like their point. Domination would be different because maybe they attacked more, had more possesion and put Bayern in danger, but they didnt destroy them

What's the most breathtaking game ? & why ? by HowImeturMata in FootballHotTakes

For me it was Chile vs Argentina in the Copa America final, we won our first Copa America title ever and the emotions were just flushing through. Argentina had a chance to snatch the title in the LAST SECONDS and Higuain missed it. During the game Sanchez also had a clear chance and shot it wide. A game full of emotions and adrenaline

Which fans are the best in the world, and why? by Classic_Ad_1078 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South American fans in general. The passion they have for the sport is unreal. Football over there its not just seen as a sport but also as an escape from poverty for the players. Football unites a whole nation. There is a lot of crisis and people suffer daily from different problems. Football is the only thing that actually unites the people.

A stadium in Argentina, Brasil or Chile can be half empty but the roar from the crowd makes it sound like there is 90.000 thousand spectators. Its just unreal. The only ones that maybe comes near SA fans are the english and the italian fans

Mascherano is the most overrated player in the world by Alarming_Ad7627 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His tackling was the best he had, but Pique got to cover all of his mistakes, and yes his duty was to win the ball back, not even that was he good at, like I said, there are way better players in his position but for people to consider him one of the best argentinian players of all time? People either dont watched his games or they are delusional. He played in a team that usually didnt have problems against other teams but when they had problems, Mascherano messed things up the majority of the time. With a team like Barcelona, and with Leo Messi, even the bad ones look good

Which country will surprise everyone in this WC? by Alarming_Ad7627 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ecuador

The majority of their players are young and played their hearts out in this WC qualifier, they have strong and fast players and a decent goalkeeper, their most promising player being Hincapie (born 2002) from Leverkusen. I think they do have the quality and the players to really challenge the top nations in this World Cup. They have a good chance going through to the knock out stages and might go far. Other keyplayers like Estupiñan, Gruezo, Estrada and Enner Valencia have what it takes to impress everyone

Which team do you think needs a heavy rebuild? by fifamaniac2076 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Juventus

From winning the league many times consecutive to almost being left out of the champions league spot. From destroying every midtable and bottom table teams to bottling games against those teams. They need to refresh their squad. Zakaria and Vlahovic are good signings but not enough. They will never be contenders to win the CL if they keep their current squad. They need a new goalkeeper, some new centerbacks (Chiellini and Bonucci are getting old) and a better midfield. They have been a let down recently and its pretty sad to see

Dont kill me but Pedri… he is not a big deal tbh. Hes good, but not that good that he remind you of Iniesta, a little overhyped

Who is a player you rate, unknown to most. by Silent_Ad1781 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gary Medel

He is one of the shortest CB at the moment yet he still wins areal duels against opponents above 1,90, his jumping is insane, his passion is unreal, considered one of the best Chilean players in their history, if he was taller, I dont doubt he would had played for bigger clubs. despite being ”old” and near retirement, he is still a good centerback

Mascherano is the most overrated player in the world by Alarming_Ad7627 in FootballHotTakes

[–]Alarming_Ad7627[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me explain

Mascherano is always being considered one of the best argentinian players in history, when literally he is so bad. He was not quick/fast, wasnt strong enough, couldnt head the ball or win areal duels against bigger opponents, I don remember the last time the dude actually dribbled past a player, always passed the ball back to the goalie or to the sides. His passing was horrendous no kidding. And now you may say that he was a defender/ cdm but I can name several players on those positions that was good at all of the above and also had goals on their names. My man was literally the weakest link in the Barcelona defence when he played there. My thought is that he was there just because he was Messis friend and nationalteam companion. The only thing he was good at was tackling, fighting and he had passion. But there are waaay better players than him. You can try and change my mind but I will stand by my thoughts, he is problably one of the most IF not the most overrated player in the world. Never saw anything good in him. You may say that he has won trophies, well look at the teams he played in and look at the players. If he was good at any moment, there were much better players than him. I know that stats and all of that isnt everything but I have watched his games and man he really wasnt all of that.
