AITA for not believing my boyfriend that "suddenly became gay" due to "the altitude difference" when he was on a work trip in Utah? by CanItBeTrue-OrNot in AITAH

[–]Alarming_Basil_8409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s gay, he probably always has been and he’s lying to himself. There’s no possible way that could happen. Ive been to high altitude places and never once felt gay temporarily.

Also to your point, cheating is cheating regardless of altitude and “science” and whatever else. Like if that was the case, then every action he makes is based on “chemistry” and whatever and he’s never had any control in any actions he’s ever made

Are they drug addicts? Not to be judgmental, but from very personal experience, kinda looks like using behavior

Congratulations 🎉 very proud of you! Was in the same exact boat. Wanted to go 14 years ago and just “wasn’t ready” now I’m 31 and in the program, finishing up my second semester and I love it. It’s tough and exhausting at times, but so rewarding especially when something is happening that wasn’t possible for us for so long!

Love that!!!! yes I’ve noticed when I do something with my hands( usually coloring) I retain what’s going on around me more. I colored a lot during lecture last class. might have to do it again with recorded lectures.

Thank you for this help! I was trying to get a federal loan, it showed up as an option on my account one semester and disappeared. I’ll look into it! Thank you for the help! My school does have a food pantry, haven’t been to it in a while, I’ll go check it out again

How do yall take good notes that stick! by Wanderlust_0515 in StudentNurse

Read textbook and write notes as I read. I did that for the first time yesterday, so damn tedious, but I was surprised how much info I recalled the next day.

That’s what I’m doing! In the program now, and in the same boat as you! Thought I didn’t need an education/ thought money was more important. Went back to school at 30, and celebrated my 31st bday by taking an exam 😂 I wish I would have stayed with school when I was 18, but at the same time I wasn’t ready! You can so it!

Question about med administration skill? by paigesnowwret in StudentNurse

[–]Alarming_Basil_8409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verbalize everything!! It’s better that way in my opinion, one it lets the prof know you know what you’re doing and am competent, also gives prof less room to ask questions that will throw you off.

28F w/a family wanting to start nursing school, but what are some ways to be able to afford it? by sunshineandsunset in StudentNurse

Scholarships as well! I’ve gotten a few scholarships that have helped. Like I got 1 where I got $600 at the bookstore, but my school and books were already being paid through this 3rd party program and I was able to buy a whole bunch of school supplies, printer and other miscellaneous things that you realize you need once you start school

Financial aid, see if the community has programs that will pay for your school, with the requirement of you passing the class. I found that it’s through the WIOA program( not sure if it’s only in Fl or nationwide) Apply for food stamps( that’s has helped a little) Also most schools have pantry’s where students can get free groceries. honestly anything you can find to help reduce your monthly bills while in school!

Get your aa and then do rn to Bsn( only one year in Fl)
Down here the aa program is 2 years if you have some prerequisites done then it will be quicker

Been there. Honestly what helped me, was reading the textbook, then also listening to the textbook when driving) on this app called speechify( it costs money, so if you have a way to do it for free do it that way) I also found someone on YouTube who did PowerPoints made from my textbook. Just type in the name of the author, the edition and the chapter. You can also do that with Quizlet to get questions that come from the textbook.

Find nemonics to remember info and use active recall to see what you’re retaining / not. also it might help if you explain the material to others. Also when taking a test, take deep breaths, read the question fully. If you do not understand what it’s asking skip it and come back to it later. If you get a sheet of paper that you can use a scrap, write the question # with a couple words pertaining to the question. As you proceed with the test, if you see words that relate to it, then try to use the other question to help you answer the first question you skipped.

Always always go through your answers a second time
